All right OP, your opinion is noted. It's my opinion that there is a huge generational gap regarding tattoo's. Because yes, only sailors and whores got tattoo's... in the early 1900's. By the 1940's criminals and bikers were getting them too, to be rebellious. It's this rebellious stereotype of modern tattoo's that sticks in a lot of conservative or "older" generation folks. People get tats for many reasons. It's a deep meaning for some, for others it's just random silly fun, and for a few people, it still has some sort of rebellious meaning.

The idea that only whores and junkies, etc. get inked is a very outdated one. The reason why women with ink look like whores to you is because that's what you perceive a whore to be like. It isn't necessarily true. Actually, to be honest i've known a few real whores, and they didn't have tattoos. It just seems silly to group everyone together in one stereotype. You wouldn't say that all Germans are Nazis would you? Or that all homosexuals have aids?

Bottom line ladies, do what you want. I personally think women with tattoos are incredibly attractive. You shouldn't have to worry about what a small group of old thinking conservatives say about you or your bodies. The OP says that there are plenty of guys who don't like them on their women. To me, this implies that women are supposed to be what a man wants. Thats a ridiculous old idea. It implies that women are "just trying to land a man." Just plain silly. And if any women out there really are worried about that, well let me tell you there are also plenty of guys who love girls with ink.

It's definately generational.When I was young in the 40s ,50s,I never ,ever saw a women with a tattoo.Life is change-societies change--girls and women getting tats is indicative of the massive changes that have happened since those days, in countries around the world.Women are just people that are taking advantage of the freedoms in attitude gained -to do what they want with their bodies without being pigeonholed as one thing or another.Well,by most,anyway.I like 'em.

Actually, my first tat was the commemorative butterfly for my wife and I. Brenda was into butterflies and when she died her daugter and two of her sisters got butterfly tats, which prompted me to get my first tat also.

It is one thing to express an opinion, it is another to prejudge ppl as a group for sharing some common characteristic. Y'know like all black ppl are .... Or all white ppl are ... It is called prejudice and generally frowned upon by polite people.
