I try to find words to describe what this song did to my soul and my opinion of contemporary 'rock' music, but I am entirely at a loss. Hands down one of the most profound pieces of music I've ever heard across the board, especially the second half of it after it quiets down and builds back up. What can you really say about it? It's a frenzy and the feelings at the end when it breaks reminds me of peaking on LSD, where it's impossible to talk because your shaking and in tears.

A very curious album to me is Von brigði, a remix album of Sigur Rós' first album Von, a band that I am not very crazy about, and a concept (remixing) that I almost wholly deplore. However, this is (in my opinion) a thousand times better than the original, and has long been one of my favorite albums. Shame it's release was so ridiculously limited and never saw a 'proper' vinyl release. Put this on the next time you find yourself tripping on mushrooms, trust me. I'm sharing two songs, because they are in fact both the same song, only remixed by two different bands.

I love this song because it's hard to sit still while listening to it. Also, I think the lyrics are very inspiring and I love the percussion.

 

I absolutely adore Malvina Reynolds. I have no idea why exactly. She's just timeless somehow. I like the part in this song where she says :

"And other generations will forget the taste of meat, of tomatoes from the garden and of bread that's made of wheat. And they'll never even notice that it's plastic that they eat - and the food is terrible."

This is my favorite song off of Beck's Midnight Vultures. I love it. If I'm ever singing in the shower it's this song.
