WHAT? He understands LOVE because he's engaged, to ME. It's not about not understanding love, it's not really about narrow mindedness either. At 15, even 16, hell, up until about 19 or 20, a woman's body just isn't mature yet. Not even our brains completely! Things are still changing, especially the mind. It's just, worth the wait if you really love each other. Imagine something going wrong and getting pregnant at 15. Happens all the time...shouldn't. We may have the goods at that point in our lives, but that doesn't mean we should be using them...they are not mature yet! A LOT can change between 15 and 16 anyway, and especially between 15 and 24. And yeah I gave in to the teenage hormones, when I was 17 actually, and he was 21, and yeah, it was just wrong. He played me like a fiddle at the time...I thought he was sooooo deep and that we had this great connection :rolls eyes:. Now I still know him, run into him occasionally, had a short conversation at work with him and could tell in that one convo just how immature he still was.

But anyway...yeah...i hope you're in love, just be careful about it.

The difference: he's 22, and his fiancee (ME) is also 22...fully matured physically, legally matured according to our government. And if he'd fallen for the 16 yr old he was actually dating before we met, when he was 19, he wouldn't have slept with her....hell, he was just having fun with her and STILL didn't sleep with her because it felt wrong, because she was so immature.

This tread is pissing me off. I don't understand what all the flaming is about? They were two consenting people, at 15 years old you know right and wrong. And it is possible for an older guy to fall in love with a younger girl. My great grand parents had an age gap of over 25years, and I can guarantee that my great grandfather never mistreated my great grand mother...

I agree. Nobody wants to think "what if this was my kid?" They just want to focus on "oh it's love and if you don't understand that, then you don't know shit." People need to open their fucking eyes. And about the grandparents thing, yeah, I have great great grandparents who were 20 years apart...This man fixed a barn for a widow in the town he lived in. If I remember the story correctly, she'd just had her daughter. JUST. She couldn't pay him, asked him what she could do, and he asked for her daughter's hand in marriage when it was marrying time. She was a teenager when they got hitched. No biggie at the time though. Same for my grandparents who are 10 years apart, although they got hitched when my grandmother was 18. The difference between teenagers then, and teenagers now is soooo freakin' huge it's like comparing apples and oranges. Sure, there are some who had to grow up fast like these grandparents did back then, to help with the farms, the family businesses, the other 14 some odd siblings...But in todays' world, at least the "western" world, or whatever, it's just not nearly the same. Honestly, you're right, that we don't know these two...but I'm sorry, there are a HELL of a LOT of fucking sicko, and I mean TRULY SICKO pedophiles out there, and we just feel we can't sit by and watch it happen to someone...so maybe we get a little jumpy on them, rude even...maybe we even get a little angry (i'm not, by the way), but really, we feel the need to protect the young ones out there...is that so bad?
