Seriously jokerman has it right. I know way too many people completely depend on pills that are way worse for you than marijuana could ever be. and we dont call them addicts. We just call it taking medication. but guess what. I am taking medication called marijuana. and it is way better. and if that makes me an loser to you so be it. Bc you are clearly flawed in your views and have no idea what you are talking about. Honestly I would rather people do pot, than drink large amounts of alcohol or smoke cigarettes. Pot makes people pleasant, and I respect "stoners"

 

I'm not gonna lie.. I understand where you are coming from. your stereotypical pothead pisses me off as much as any other stereotypical person in this world.. kinda like your stereotypical anti-marijuana act you got going on here.. but i do agree some people do abuse marijuana and end up making nothing out of their life.. but you are doing nothing more than making generalizations with little to no physical backup of your statements.. just on a random rant that is full of opinions and no facts.. so until you start stating facts.. and references.. you really aren't doing much to sway our personal opinions

 

Smoking marijuana often helps me deal with issues I'm not even aware I'm having. I'll be in a sour mood or a pissy funk for a reason that I don't even understand... I'll smoke some weed and the cause of my discontent usually bubbles up from my subconscious mind and I'm forced to deal with it.

Also, it makes me think flowers are extra pretty. I saw some awesome blossoming bushes today during my blaze-walk.

 

The real problem here is people who are anti-marijuana.. which makes laws tougher to change.. or makes laws stricter towards harmless offenders.. so instead kids are looking to alternatives in forms of synthetic cannibinoids.. which some of are proving to be harmful to the body as the body processes these chemicals and they metabolize into more harmful chemicals.. when all could be avoided by just legalizing marijuana.. but instead we increase tax dollars to help fight these new chems that kids are getting a hold of and just increasing the waste of the "war on drugs"..

Also.. marijuana wouldn't be so much of a gateway drug if most of these kids.. especially the ones in bigger city environments didn't have to deal with drug dealer that not only provide marijuana but will also get you coke.. pills.. H.. ya name it.. do you really think marijuana would be a gateway if you could go to a shop and buy marijuana and ONLY marijuana.. no.. instead they deal with "I'm out of weed.. but i'll sell you -insert drug here-"

i am a fuckin pothead. you could say i am addicted to marijuana. i haven't missed a day of smoking since March, and only 2 days in 2010 without weed. i live in my own apt. where i pay over $600/month for rent. i have my own car, which i paid for. i have a bachelors degree in biochemistry. i get paid to work towards my Ph.D. in biochemistry. i graduated high school 2nd in my class while smoking before school half of the time, or even in the bathroom at school, which is obviously stupid. we all make mistakes - stoners or not. if someone is gonna be lazy and worthless, they are gonna do it regardless of whether or not they smoke pot. and if someone is gonna be a nobel prize winner, i highly doubt that smoking pot is get in the way of that, unless it's due to an unjust law against it.

today i went to lab for 8 hours. today i was checking the temperature sensitive phenotypes of some triple mutant yeast strains that i've been making. the short term goal is to determine if knocking out the gene that encodes EFoneA protein, will suppress the temp sensitivity of a yeast strain that lacks two genes coding for transfer RNA modification enzymes, which causes the tRNA to get degraded at high temperature - hence the term "temperature sensitivity"
