Seattle cop punches 17yr old in face for jaywalking

hahhahaaha u know hes a bad cop on how long it took him to detain that women, that chick was stronger then him. ahha that we pure comedy, i dont even care about the chick getting punched in the face, she deserves that for stepping in when a cop was doing his job. but ahaha that is great the cop couldent even get that chick in cuffs for like. 2 minutes ahahahah

 

The police officer obviously didn't handle that well.

But some of you are making it out like someone was punched for jaywalking... the lady pushed a cop trying to detain an aggressive person.

 

Police think they can do WHATEVER THEY WANT and its sick!

 

PurpBythePound- You are absolutely right. That was an emotional response that would take years, if even possible, to prove.

I do believe in my statement, as it is based on my own (yes limited) experiences, experiences of those I know (including african americans) along with what is being spouted by a large number of the african americans that have the means to spread ideas through the media.

I was raised to believe that all humans share a common heritage and that no race is better than any other. My wife is african american as well.

Unfortunately, this doesn't change the validity of my previous statement. I understand and accept that you do not agree with me.

p.s. I am only speaking about race relations in America.

You're supposed to fight tickets in the court, not with the cop.

 

Police brutality is fucked up and all... but he was in the right, as far as I can see.

If you're in a position where it's your job to enforce the law, you don't let some bitch try to manhandle you, and when her "girlfriends" see fit to try to help?

Guy was nice, I woulda broken out the pepper spray, tazer, put that shit down... And normally I'm the "fuck the police" type.... but that shit don't fly, if I take issue with a citation or whatnot, I ask for a badge number....

Although damn, I'm not trained in any way, but I think I could have her cuffed a lot faster than that.... Especially if I where as pissed as I would be if I where in his position.

I watched the video, and I see a number of mistakes.
1. Don't stop the girl from jaywalking. Hey, if she gets hit, that's her problem.
2. It's just a simple misdemeanor ticket, if even that bad. It's not worth arresting anyone for that, and certainly not worth punch someone either.
3. I think the girl screwed up as well. Just take the ticket and deal with it when the time comes.
4. The woman that started grabbing the cop from behind, bad move. She, if anyone, should have been arrested for interfering with an oficer and assaulting an officer.
5. At the same time, I know that if I was there I would have been arrested. Because as soon as the cop punched her I'd be right there- "Wanna rock with me, muthafucka?"

I think the cop was out of line. For something this small, like a jaywalking ticket.
But for those men to let another man hit a woman for no reason, THAT is cowardly. Screw the badge.

 

The point isn't what started it, it's that once he was trying to give it, multipule fuckheads felt the need to begin assulting a police officer for no reason other than that she apparently thought she was too "hood" for a jwalking ticket, and that if she just pushed the white boy around a bit, he would back down. (if I sound racist, I do tend to profile a bit, it's not the color of your skin that matters, it's the culture you grew up in, and unfortionatly a lot of black people, seemingly including her, grow up with shit for culture and some sense of reasonless entitlement)

 

I don't see it as racial, but cultural. I know white people that have that attitude as well.

 

I think it was wrong that the cop hit her, but let's face it, (it would appear) they were pretty much asking for shit by being so uncooperative. Had they been a little more respectful and not putting hands on the officer, things woulda transpired a lot differently. Both parties are at fault here.

At the risk of sounding extremely old/ignorant, it's partially due to the crap that plays on the radio all day. Pair (proven) hypnotic beats with repetitive, negative, hateful, lyrics, and you get a shit culture that is kept going by the people who obsessively listened to that crap when they were kids and grew up to wreck havoc on society.

One should note that a good portion of the music industry is not controlled by african americans, either.

 

anyone who paid attention to this video can obviously see the woman in pink shoved the cop while he was dealing with someone else. she should have never shoved him, what did she expect the cop to do? tickle her? this could have all be less severe if they just would have not resisted and taken the stupid ticket.

 

i fail to see how this constitutes deadly force. assault sure, but not deadly force.
