When LRH was still just a sci-fi novel writer, he once was quoted as saying if you want to make a million dollars, start a religion. Then he took his own advice.
Wha? Weah? If it is good enuff for Vinnie Barbarino.....
I took a course at the Vanc. branch, but quit before I completed it.
They teach a lot of good stuff, but I found the $$ seemed to be the major focus of their 'religion' Not my cuppa.

I don't really trust most celebrity-endorsed religions. I mean, it's not that they're automatically bad, but they always come off as being a fad. 'sides, my spirituality is part of me, not somethign someone can tell me to believe (or make me pay them to believe). I've read a fair bit about other religions, especially ones from past cultures (like the Ancient Egyptians) and ones that aren't too common on North America (Zoroastrianism etc).... what made sense to my brain and heart I've kept with me, and discarded the rest. that's just how I deal with it.

After each class, I would always have to sit through a 5 minute interview to see what I thought of it, how I was doing, etc. and I would say that the teacher I had was pissing me off, and I was bored to tears, etc.
One day I *cough*accidentally*cough* let it slip out that I was about to receive a windfall of $16 000 from the sale of a house. The next week, at my interview, they had 'concluded' that I needed to take a certain set of courses and then I would be way better off mentally, spiritually, etc. By coincidence, they added up to $16 000. When I asked why, they were very earnestly trying to convince me that it was becuz they wanted the best for me, which meant getting maximum benefit from my money, but I balked, walked, and talked about it to many many folks.
