when i was attending this one school in phoenix from K-3rd grade
    the rules were as followed
    no color nail polish
no earrings unless they are studded (no dangly eaarings)
no make up but if you were in 7th an 8th grade you could wear colored lipgloss
no sandals (unless it had a back that enclosed your heel)
no shorts (and in phoenix....that's just absurd!!) unless it was field day
if you pants had belt loops, you must wear a belt
you must have your shirt tucked in at all times
    no belly shirts
    no tanktops
always have your hair out of your face
guys could not have long hair
you were to not enter the cafeteria til' your hands were washed
and you couldn't leave your table at lunch til' you raised your hand for permission to leave

and if you didn't follow these rules, they sent a notice home with you and if you did it more than 2 times you would get suspended. now these rules applied even to the older kids...the school went from K=8th grade....and it wasn't a Private school either....

^^yeah, my middle school was pretty much the same way. We could wear shorts though. I shroomed at that school once... scary!

I think moonbeam's school takes the cake. The first one about the cars is just insane, so is the grass one.

    HOLY SHIT!!!

The relationship with most of my teachers is we're basically like friends... we joke and talk about other teachers and they don't care. One teacher even cusses in class and called another teacher pubic head once (joking about her hair) and we all laughed and the teachers both laughed...

My school is really laid back... but we never get anything done.

    Sleeping? woopsies. :p

Hmm, I end up in lunch detention too often and sometimes I think they make up rules as they go along. Mostly the things I get sent in for are...

    Language ... (okay I admit "cocksucker" isn't exactly apporpriate ;) )

Disrupting class... daydreams... talking out loud... random outbursts...

And the dress code. Then again, after reading some of yours, mine doesn't look so bad...

my school rules arent that bad. but what pisses me off is the cop there. and everyday they check random lockers or if they suspect you of having some illegal things in your locker. and then theres a cop station 300 feet down the road. acorss from the hs is the skatepark where everyone smokes squaeres at and walks along this little path to smoke weed and the pigs are always there.

    off subject....

we dont have that bad of rules actually........not a bad dress code, just being late 4 times to class is a detention......hmm...thats about it

Being tardy three times at my school counts as an absence. Three absences a single quarter in that block and you fail for the nine weeks.

In my old high school, they tried to make us tuck in our shirts (so we couldn't hide guns in our waistbands, I guess) and they banned flip-flops. yeah, guess how long THOSE rules lasted...

I graduated last year, and apparently it's a lot worse this year. No hole-y pants, no logos, no printed t-shirts... what a bunch of lameness.

last year they suspended a girl for having a slinky and a pair of ballet slippers in her car. they tried to say it was a weapon. WTF?? I dont get it either.

they tried to suspend me for burning incense in my car, they thought i was smoking. they were so mad when they saw it was incense and not a cigarette, they were like in this orgiastic "i'm gonna get her in trouble" rage, it was scary.

yeah, high school sucks. college is cool though :-D

hmmm...when i was in high school the rules really weren't that strict.

but i think they're gonna start pushin them real soon...they're having trouble with racism this year. all kinds of fights and shit.

a few rules i do remember that were really stupid was in the dress code. we couldn't wear safety pins on any part of our clothing, no chains, no shirts like for example, with jack daniels printed on the front or other alcoholic drinks...sometimes if a teacher just didnt like what was printed on your shirt you had to turn it inside out, even if it didnt really break the code. um, we couldnt wear baggy pants. the boys that wore them low and showed their ass pretty much always got in trouble. anyway, they had these rules...but never enforced them! I broke just about every dress code rule.

oh heres a dumb one...we couldnt leave the lunchroom to use the bathroom unless we signed out and took a hall pass with us and then we had to sign back in. we already had only about ten minutes to eat!

something else, not really a rule, its something we had to do once a month. we had to go to our homerooms for the first couple hours of school for something called advisor/advisee. it was pretty much an anti-drug session...it was a boring waste of time. actually, i dont ever remember DOING anything for this...i remember just sitting there and then skip out of it.
