Hah I love this. It's happened to me ever since I was a kid, and it's only ever been sounds. The way a weather forecaster on TV would talk would do it all the time. Generally though, like someone else said, it happens when I'm being taught something by someone. Sometimes I can't listen or take in what they are saying because I'm too focused on the pleasureful tingles all over my head(sometimes my whole body). For me, it really is quite euphoric.

I also get this from when other people are on a computer. The sounds of the keystrokes and clicks they make usually sets it off. And, somebody else playing the guitar often causes it, although it's never the sound the guitar produces, more the sound of the fingers moving on the strings.

I have had Tingly Head since I was a child. I notice it happens when someone is talking softly near me but not to me. It's a good feeling and I get relaxed, my eyes get heavy sometimes. I have always wondered if it happens maybe because it reminds us of what things sounded like from our mother's womb. You know, soft muffled sounds. Or maybe when someone held us as a baby and spoke softly.

Gee, makes me also wonder what kind of sensation my kids will feel when they hear someone yelling! :) Remind them of their childhood??? heehee.

Anyway, I do feel sad for people who have never felt tingly head. it is a very nice feeling and they're missing out. Someone should do a study on us...see if we have dementia before everyone else, or keep our hair while everyone else thins. One common thread seems to be that it started in childhood, so we know it's not caused by the drugs we did in high school.

I have felt thes tingles in the back of my head since I was a child also. I've been searching for an explanation and this is the only place I can find anything on it.

It usually happens when I'm watching someone d something that takes them a long time to figure out or something that intrigues or interests me very much. Very strange but I'm glad I've found that I'm not the only one.

I get this too- really bizarre. Someone just walked into my office with something for me to check and sign, a completely run-of-the-mill everyday occurence but there's the strange tingle. I remember the same thing happening with one teacher at school and a senior that I was acting as IT teacher to in later life. Also a hairdresser I once had my hair cut by. Plus other random people with no pattern wrt the age, gender, race etc. A pleasurable sensation, and very odd !

No you’re not a dumb ass but there are plenty of them around :)

Is it the same feeling you get when your foot falls asleep?

well one thing that will make your scalp itch is taking to many cold pills lol also some narcotic painkillers use to give me a pleasant sensation of a slight tingling of my skin, I told my nuero surgeon about this and she said feeling that urge to stratch is actually termed a side effect of taking pain killers, but wow there are few things like dropping a couple of pain killers sitting back in your chair and letting them take effect,i am just being honest about my use of these "chemicals"

there are a lot of single post posters in this thread. Almost like this thread attracts the attention of people because of the unique subject matter.

This can't possibly be the first time this phenomenon has been reported. So many of us have it, I mean I never thought I was the only one. I always just associated it with a feeling of contentment and comfort. But if it is a special kind of emotion, maybe it does mean something....
