Love has many meanings. It can be friendly love or it can be passionate love or whatever. Nothing to freak about.

I only say I love you to people I actually love. I'll say love ya to those I really care about. Ummm Oh and I say I hate you to those people I don't want to love, but sadly do anyways. hahaha

 

i've always felt that if you're truely loved by someone, you can tell without their having to say it, and that their doing so only casts doubt on their sincerity.

so i'd rather express my affection in other ways then to cast unneccesary doubt on it.

a hug says more then a word. although the word hug on line is almost as good.

considering the use of the word "hate" in every other OTHER thread, i find that a remarkable presumption. but then i don't claim to have stayed au'curant with linguistic and cultural evolution, being old enough to use that as an excuse for not doing so.

I rarely say I love you to anyone except my son. But I do love everyone, only it's not in a sense of them as people, its in the sense of our souls which I find to be One. Maybe Im alone in my belief but I constantly find myself trying to feel out hatred and anger for other people and its just not there. I cant actually hate anyone because hate, to me, is not even real. When it comes, its always able to be changed into something more positive, and love is the structure of reality. Love is the attraction of atoms, love is the positive charge of internal energy and heat generation, love is what keeps the Earth at a proper distance from the Sun in order for consciousness to individualize itself amongst seperate hosts, love is what continues evolution and growth, and love is what makes everything run in harmony.
If a friend said to me "I love you" because I help them and it just comes out, I wouldnt feel weird about it. But none of my friends say it on a regular basis, and I dont say it to anyone else because it carries so many different notions and implies so many different things. I feel that if you really love people as a whole, as your whole human family living together on this planet, your actions powered by love come across much more clear than words. I try and help people and think of either God or the love I have for my family when I perform my dharma, and sometimes I fail but I believe everyone deserves to be forgiven and shown love because that is what makes people feel cared for. In most cases at least, I realize not all of us deserve such kindness when only God can have mercy eternally.

i wonder how many people really understand the context in which you're saying that. i know most people claim to, but i wonder how many take the time or the trouble to really do. when baha'u'llah said one soul in many bodies, my generall impression is this is what he was talking about.

Well we all have different beliefs and generally most people dont consider the entire human race as equal to themselves. Which, when we are thinking in terms of mind, or ego consciousness, is temporarily true. But I believe that we all have a soul and that in fact our souls are all the same thing, emanated out of spirit and deposited into different bodily hosts. But when consciousness is transcended either by deep thought or through yoga meditation, people generally come to the realization that none of this actually matters and that we are born out of God and in being Her children, we are all equal in Her eyes. This is just my opinion however and I dont wish to attack anyone elses belief or religion or lack thereof, that is not my intention. Im just clearing up what I meant by that statement
