San Francisco to Vote on Nudity in Restaurants.

I have to backup what Garden Guy says. I've been a nudist almost my entire life. Nudists are friendly folks. I was raised in a Clothing Optional home, and live naked as much as possible today. It's a wonderful lifestyle. Nudists are generally healthy, well balanced and less judgmental than the general population.

On the sunject of towels, I have to side with those who want the nudists to use towels when sitting. That's a basic courtesy among true nudists, it's the rule at nudist resorts here in California, and in most of the private homes of nudists and naturists that I have visited. It's not that nudists aren't clean, it's simply a custom as a health courtesy. All of the nudists that I know carry towels with them, even when they are dressed. My car has a couple of towels in the trunk at all times.

In today's fashion-conscious society, some people mistakenly associate nudity with sexuality. For nudists like me -- and most of the nudists at Clothing Optional Resorts -- it's about freedom and comfort. The best swim suit ever made is drip dry and you're already wearing it -- your skin. Be comfortable in it! There's nothing worse than cold wet board-shorts.

Any activity that can be done clothed, can also be done naked. I've enjoyed activities from horseshoes to volleyball in the buff. And I've also seen more daring nudists try skiing and skydiving. At one local resort, there's a sign posted that sums up our philosophy: "No Shirt, no shoes, no pants? No problem!"

But bring a towel. Please.

 

Only problem I have is if kids are subjected to this lifestyle. Especially if they are partaking in the nudity. It would be so easy to exploit children in a nudist environment. With cameras everywhere these days and the lifestyle itself is clearly enticing to perverts and deviants. Don't be naive about it, you just don't know what going on in other peoples minds.

Yes because they arent restricted by clothing!

They can feel FREE and enjoy the feeling of not having any clothes on,etc.......

The law doesn't let you be naked, but SF is one of the host cities for World Naked Bike Ride and the Bay to Breakers run has a sub-event called "Bare to Breakers". Cops are instructed not to ticket nudity for these special events.

The north end of Baker Beach right on the edge of the city is a popular place for nude sunbathing on warm days.

 

Don't forget your towel

 

Humm, I am not fond of the idea of nude resturants. I have been a waitress and a cook. I dont fancy seeing a waitress' bare behind and tit's floping in my food and let's admit it, some folks should keep their clothes on in public, for there is not enough Eye Bleach to remove the stain. I also do not want to sit in anyones leftovers. I would think there would be a health code issue(s).

Could STDs/crabs/lice be spread by "leftovers" on the seat... ewwwww.. It just doesnt seem appitizing to me watching women struggle to keep their tits out of their oatmeal.

It would probally be fun to watch, but I'd do my eating at home. I think The Child issue would be a problem as to what society will tolorate. I dont think it will Ever come to Nude Resturants. Not public ones anyway.

 

Restaurants require kitchen staff to wear aprons and hair nets or hats for health reasons and aprons may protect wait staff from hot food. But I am hearing a major discomfort with human beings in their natural state going far beyond mere health concerns. I hope that I am mistaken.

Nudists take seating towels with them to public places for good hygiene. It provides as much protection as a skirt or trousers with better air circulation.
Providing fresh air to your entire body is cleaner than wearing clothes.

For us there is no "child issue". For that matter there is no grandparent issue, no mom issue, no dad issue. We live our lives naturally as much as possible.

Everyone has a right to their place in the sun. It supersedes any alleged "right" not to see nudity. Nudity is the natural human condition, young, old, beautiful and those you don't find attractive.

Aversion to nudity is a self-fulfilling prophecy. Break the cycle! In a few hours, you can free yourself from those old prejudices and phobias.
