i thoroughly enjoyed it. it just wasnt what i was in the mood for. i am drooling over this bottle of foret, but i should wait till after my work meeting tonight (only two hours long, and it starts in a little over an hour, so it should be ok to wait of course )
Waiting is overrated. I'm about to ride my bike to the Gyro place downtown and have me a gyro and a beer outside while I soak in the sun.
waiting is overrated, but i have a half hour drive there, and i dont want to drink a bomber of 7%ABV beer RIGHT before my meeting.... besides, its a strong and malty beer, and will be better later this evening when it cools off outside anyhow. and yeah, i can't wait for the spaten. its very simple and ordinary, but i still adore it. very, very refreshing. usually i can't find it in the grocery, just beer/wine specialty places, which is sad. sometimes i can find it, but usually if i want this type of beer i gotta settle for lowenbrou or something. or go for a pils
These are pretty good too. It's a small family-owned place, so the atmosphere there is always happy. Plus... they're like... 5$ man... can't beat that!
and a gyro sounds fucking amazing right now. but falafel sounds even better. i might stop and get one of those things on my way home from my meeting....
if i go to the drafthouse, i don't have to choose, i can have falafel, gyro, AND a brew. and i'm doing it see you in a few hours
i saw no country for old men. it was good. i had bass pale ale. it was alright. maybe i should have gone for the five dollar milkshake.
yeah. bass is ok. i'll drink it. but its not exceptional at all. still, if its the best offered at a particular establishment, i'll get it with my food. tonight i got that spaten minikeg, i'm probably gonna take it over to my friends house. he lives near my parents for whom i am dogsitting. i figure drive it over there, let it sit and settle in his fridge (the car will rattle it up a touch) while i drive back and then walk the couple blocks to his house.... we can crack it open, drink till its gone, then 2 or 3 in the morning i can stumble on home
Yeah, I've seen those Spaten mini kegs around here too. Never bought one, though. About how many beers are in one of those? Like 12?
So I tried the Holy Grail ale, and it was pretty awesome. I also drank some 1554, which was pretty awesome. ...and Fat Tire on tap is better than one would think. (I also tried Newcastle on tap, and it was much much better than out of the bottle)
We'dprobably be using heavy ethanol gas mixes now if we had a large sugar indusrty in the US. But since we have corn in everything here, it's the only thing being considered.
Yeah, Fat Tire is alright... I went to eat at this place and they only had a few beers on tap, Fat Tire being the best of them... and it really was much better on tap. 1554 is a gift from God to men.
