Be suprised that ppl that know the magic properties of chloroform.. My freind John sniffed a rag with it once and was chased down the street by a light bulb.. My freind Frank sniffed it and called me said he put all his ciggeretts in a beer bottle, he was hiding under the table and that winnie the pooh bear was going to kill him.. I was sniffing it when Frank opened the fridge door and I saw a pile of snow and ice pour out the fridge and cover Frank from head to toe.. Its harmful to your health. I dont recommend it. But its has the most pleasing smell of flowers..
not funny I seen the light bulb too.. it didnt chase me, but peeked around the telephone pole like it wanted to..
Methinks that liberty is being able to act according to your own free will and I can't handle that or responsibility because I'm content with drugs being illegal? I like that "if you disagree with me you're wrong" philosophy. It's not about siding with "the big guns" and making things easier for myself, sir, and I certainly wouldn't describe myself as EAGER since I'm not enthusiastically embracing prohibition and picketing for re-criminalization of marijuana in Massachusetts. It's just that I do not mind that drug use and abuse are illegal. It sure would be easier for me if I didn't have to risk a criminal record for having a good time with some friends, wouldn't it?
In this context, I mean political liberty. The liberty to ingest whatever substances I wish, without having to worry about the state locking me up, or even fining me. Of course, that means I'm also responsible for any harm I cause myself as a result of my drug use. I have no idea what you're talking about; you're the one who wants to restrict people's actions here. I just want people to have the freedom to do a drug if they so choose. But you should mind, for a number of reasons. Many of these reasons are not abstract philosophical considerations of freedom and individual rights vs. social cost (although I find such arguments to be the most compelling). As I touched on earlier in the thread, prohibition is a waste of money. It exacerbates the social cost by creating black market economies. It increases the risk that a drug user will ingest something other than what they were lead to believe they purchased. It gives people involved in other nefarious practices an extra source of income. In short, prohibition is a bad idea.
plus tons of tax dollars could be raised from these now-illegal substances. money money money! that's all the government cares about, i promise.
meh it's actually not that great of a deal. no one would buy it, everyone would grow their own or buy it for cheapz from friends that do. of course the simple solution to this would be only government people can grow it, and if you're caught with grow ops it's still the same punishment. but that's too complicated
Don't be so sure about that; never underestimate the extent of human laziness. That--and a knack for competition--are what made capitalism such a success.
