A song popped into my head right away when I read this thread ... but I was amazed to see that nobody posted it! Ripple ~ The Grateful Dead Ok ... maybe this song isnt really sad, but it is emotional ... especially with Jerry singing it! Come one ... anyone agree?

Livkot Leha - by Aviv Geffen and Arik Einstein was composed in memory of the murdered Israeli Prime Minister Itzhak Rabin... his murder affected me so much that that song makes me sad everytime I hear it.

In My Life- by The Beatles... this song is more of a nostalgia factor for me.

Tears In Heaven - By Clapton...

    U2 - One (Love)... it's just beautiful...

Manu Chao - Lagrimas De Oro

    Enrique Bunbury - Lady Blue

Velvet Underground - Pale Blue Eyes

    ANGRY SON_ BY INDIAN SUMMER

they are no doubt the best emo band there is.
its a slow isntrumental for about 5 minutes
and it gradually builds up liek a wall of sound
    crashing against your eardrums
    the lyrics are not comprehendable
but finally he starts whispering kinda singing then screaming yelling
    "i am the angry son"

me and my friend would listen to it all the time
