I have no problem with animal experimentation either.

I think the slow suffocation death in the pill bottle full of dead bodies is worse than the fire..

Gotta wonder sometimes about the frivolous nature of our demise.

death to us is a drift away... I dont think it can be much different than going out under anesthesia. Time is a variable cause Humans have seen and measured it. But time isnt true.. the sun isnt there, its imploded and recreated a million times again and again.. but we cant see it til we die, again and again. Its pretty fun once you get used to it. Then you come back here explaining it all, get people all nuts over Carl Sagan and his funny voice.. crazy Stephen and his crazy voice. Where ever he goes the people all complain..
    but Its all GoOD... ;)

Funny I had just said this same thing in another thread, in time we have already died many times over.

I was more referring to the frivolous causes. How many insect lives have we extinguished in total obliviousness as we walk along the ground, build our fires, drive our wagons, or snuffed out simply for the cause of "creepyness"

i look at bugs under the microscope.. I killed an Ant and watched its leg twitch for hours, as fascinating it was, it was rather haunting. As seems there is nothing but some nano fibers picking up some electron pulse ..

I absolutely cannot stand fruit flies in my house. They drive me to the brink of insanity.

I also a hate picking ticks out of myself. While working in Merrit earlier this year I was pulling several out of my air, pits, and crotch every day (the migrate to warmth).

In other regards, I am super tolerant of mosquitoes, black flies, deer flies, noseeums, horseflies etc.

My favorite bug is known as the "stumpfucker". They are this huge wasp that doesn't really sting, but looks very angry. They lay their eggs in freshly burnt stumps and it looks like they're having quite the good time.

I also like spruce beetles. Not for the fact that they kill trees, but because if you pick them up by the antenna, their instinct is to run. They'll pick up a good size rock when you lift them up, and it spins in the air as they run across it. Very amusing when you're bored.

If you had the choice between chopping down a tree, or cutting a human in half - which would you choose?

We used to superglue string to the back leg of these monsters and fly them around like a toy airplane.
good size ones can be almost two inches long.

I saw a news article in an archive about Japanese researchers that were using roaches like mini robots. They were able to electrically stimulate the roach and make it walk in various directions.

They wanted to put tiny cameras on the roaches and use them in applications such as search and rescue operations in collapsed buildings and such.

A roach is a tough sturdy sucker.

There is a wasp that does the same thing. Walks the roach back to its nest to lay eggs in.
