i would rather be under the illusion of lsd any day and iam pretty sure anyone on the face of earth would agree.....but iam pretty sure its possible.
put traditional notions of protest behind you, people. governments have grown to sufficient size, surveilence, and power that they can kick your ass! I agree that a revolution is coming, this is the 21st century, the world is so different to the last revolution in the 60's. What happened in the 60's was contextual to the time, and to imagine what the next revolution would be, is hard to say. however in the renneissance spirit, it is likely to involve a grand inflation of cultural appreciation. Think about it this way: in 2012 it will be half a century after the 60's began. almost everyone who is part of the new and functioning society uses computers, internet, a plethora of digital devices, global transport, copiously diverse media, etc. People are depressed, obese, disgruntled. children are having lots of disorders and although it is true that psychiatric diagnosis is sometimes bs, I think children would have to be having disorders with the way that children are treated today as opposed to 50 years ago. This is a new world. Nothing has happened. there are no heroes, no characters amongst the celebrities. Science is not bringing the public the answers that it was hoping. Religion has not died. New world order has not occured. Aliens have not been found. We are going to wake up soon to the fact that we are animals on earth and we always have been. All of us creatures on earth are struggling to survive alongside eachother. People have replaced the question 'what is the meaning of my life?" with the notion 'what is the meaning of life?' because it has been drilled into us that we are all equal. This is largely a reprocussion of the equal rights movement, id say. but we are actually not equal. We all have different abilities, powers, responsibilities, behaviors. Different people are more selfish than others, different people have more to offer (or are more willing to offer) what they have to society. all these things set people apart. the colour of skin is not important, but the fact that africans are on the whole better at some things and worse at others is something that we should all embrace and respect, as with all races on the earth. similarly, men and women have different abilities, different prorogatives, different investments. thus some roles are more appropriate for men or for women, and this is 'sexist' but it is entirely reasonable as a guideline (though not necessarily as a rule). with religions.. well.. perhaps with the revolution will come a new way of seeing religion.. one that allows people to have perspective on their religion without having to feel shameful about being duped. Everyone, after all, is trying to make sense of the world. No one is born with more knowlege than anyone else. But people are not open to a notion that says what they believe is trivial.
