Resin

i thought resin IS hash...im sure it is. cos technically, if your smoking your herb, or hash, then your burning away the thc to be inhaled. so there'd be only trace amounts of the thc in the tar thats left from the bud/hash.
resin is the sticky bit that oozes out of plants...take a tree for example, amber is the tree's resin.

^^ i know its not that important, and it doesnt matter what you call it as long as you enjoy it, but here's how i understand resin vs hash... lol i kinda want to just babble..

"res" or resin as most of us refer to it is the stuff you scrape out of your bowl/pipe after a lot of smoking... resin/charas could also refer to the ^sticky bit that oozes out of cannabis plants, usually the ones grown in like india (Charas - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charas)

when you're smokin your bud or your hash, you're burning thc and other chemicals too... they all get in the resin... though i dont know about potency. but hash is definetly different from resin... hash is made by more or less compressing or rolling bits of bud or the marijuana plant (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hashish)

anyhow im blazed off resin atm, i didnt expect so little (about 0.1 g) to get me high,,, but wooo

 

how do you guys go about collecting it?

Heat it up and use a toothpick?

I got a tin of resin from my bubbler by keeping it in a bag filled with isopropyl alcohol for a while, shaking it a lot, and later letting the alcohol evaporate.. left the tin resinated as hell. havent smoked any of it yet, though.

 

Yeah I've tried to collect it before and failed. Could've been because there wasn't that much (I clean it often), but I should've been able to do better than I did. It's a small piece, hard to maneuever in haha.

I got a little one time and and all I felt was a little headbuzz and later a headache.

 

the best thing for collecting resin is a dentist tooth scraper.

yeah i've had probs collecting and using it... i use a paperclip, but its so goddamn sticky that it's hard to transfer from the clip to the bowl or to a baggie, etc... any suggestions, other than isopropyl, which takes a long time?

 

If the law find Resin in your pipes, they'll do you for possession of a Class A substance.

 

i like ti use flat head screwdrivers and the coiled part of a metal coathanger, when you unwind the hook part

ive scraped with dentist tools for years and never done any damage what so ever.
but my friend, who just wanted to get resin as fast as he could, chipped 3 of his pipes.

 

haha happens to the best of us and our pieces when we're desparate and our drug dealers hold out on us :$

 

For that reason, I just wouldn't call any sharp metal object the "best" tool for collecting resin. heheh.

Well, here's what I did recently. Back in the day, I cleaned out my old metal pipe with isopropyl alcohol in the bag, like I previously mentioned. I let it evaporate in an altoids tin over a couple days or so. 6 months later, I open up the tin and heat/scrape out as much as I can, make myself a nice little ball of blackish-copper color resin. I flattened it in another tin with some crystals and shake in it.. so it was coated on both sides with tha good stuff. I proceeded to bong that shit, got damn near 10 hits off that little piece. It was good. I was very* fucked up.

I did that a couple of weeks ago. I balled up about 1g~ worth of resin and put it in capsules. I noticed a worthwhile body high. I wouldn't do it without a capsule though, because that shit would be hella nastified.

Oh, and I just finished smoking a bowl of resin.

 

Thats the great thing about having a piece everyone likes. You just take it to a friends who's planning on having a small group of people over and load up bowl after bowl into your piece. Usually at the end of a nice session with 4-6 people you've got enough resin to get you high on that agonizing night when you really want weed, but don't have any

 

I dont know what it is but resin get MUCH higher then weed. its amazing
