20 bits is a sample rate. It has nothing to do with money haha

Not yet... But being an XP machine I can always use older software if need be. Event Echo wrote drivers for XP and this card, so that's not an issue... I started recording years ago with Cakewalk, still have the disks. I'm using REAPER now and I'm pretty sure it can handle this card too, but I haven't tried yet. On this machine it doesn't have to record, just pass it through to the 8 outputs...
