My sister dropped by for a visit today...

 

got an interview for a masters degree tomorrow

sucks ass.

as of now... i'm in bed and about to watch life on mars

which does not suck ass.

 

School is such an issue it's like forcing you to be a child for a longer period of time

 

the top foot or two of the lake was nice and warm but the deeper water was cool

ill miss swimming when it starts to get too cold

 

There are so many of you who are educated. It's impressive.

I have a certificate in audio engineering and I can do just about anything with my hands, but almost no post-secondary education. I was raised the blue-collar way I guess...

 

I have a certificate in guitar building and can hardly do anything with my hands... anymore. They used to obey commands and not hurt all the time... Meh, whatever... It just seemed to fit what you were saying in a weird sort of way.

There does seen to be something missing...

 

I'm not necessarily "educated" in the standard hours-of-useless-schooling sense, but I'm self-taught in a lot of things. I'm a jack of all trades and a master of none-haha!

So, I'm doing this program-which is rather cheap-and hoping to become a master at something.

I shall become the ju-ju queen!

 

I have no degrees hanging on my wall. But when we had our house built, hubby and I did most of the electrical wiring in it...

It going to be a hot and humid day, I hate humidity...

 

And that's gonna happen real soon too!

Yeah... good old Arthur is fucking with me. I can somewhat play for short amounts of time, nowhere near what I used to be able to.

 

I got gas in the car this morning and it was so busy you would think they were giving something away. But they were not.....

I interviewed for a masters degree program once. They let me in. I decided it wasn't really what I wanted, so I never showed up for class registration.

There are some kinds of work that nobody will hire you for unless you have certain schooling. If you want to do those kinds of work, you need to do the schooling.

In my case, it just seemed like everything I could think of that I wanted to do required education. One of my sisters is super-intelligent, but what she wanted to do was sell real estate, and she didn't need a degree for that. However she's also very artistic. She channeled that ability into creating a home that was so amazing it was included in a magazine article about beautiful homes.

That must be a very hard thing to bear. I worry sometimes about my hands...and my feet and knees. I think I get my joint health from my mom, and she has arthritis - and bionic knees. I find it gets harder and harder to walk, and I'm not even 60 yet.

That will teach us a lesson!
