Ahh, blast it. I forgot Nick Drake as well... Oh, dammit. I didn't know Sterling Morrison was dead... shit. And, welcome back, Skelter!
Hank Williams 1923-1953, never made 30. http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&token=ADFEAEE4781ED84CAB7220D6973B4CC8BD61F70DE153F68F07211C0CFCAC3040820238E253F89589F2F306D706EAA062A3450DD5D5EC56FCD82A3E378FEEAC653E2E3A7B&sql=11:mt6ibkg9hakc
I can't say he's one of my favorite musicians, but I've grown to love the RHCP a lot, and they suffered a tragic loss with the death of Hillel Slovak (1962-88). It's very saddening reading about him.
Bryan MacLean - 1947-1998 Ken Forssi - 1943-1998 The rhythm guitarist/vocalist and the bassist, respectively, of the '60s band Love.
Damn, he didn't get to live very long. Another sad fact is that Roky Erickson isn't doing so good these days either. His mental condition is way out of wack. He is diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic. Supposedly he keeps multiple radios and T.V.s on at the same time to drown out the noises in his head. He also has little to no money and doesn't make shit off of The Elevators records that are sold. It's sad...
I really like Roky, but i am also suprised he lived this long. Here's another one to add to the list Jimmie Rodgers (1897-1933) Like his brass plaque at the Country Music Hall of Fame states, he is the man who started it all.
ok, thanks Lucifer Sam . Do you perhaps know the chart positions of the 13th floor elevators? I know that #55 is the highest that 'you're gonna miss me' got in the national US chart, but what about the albums?
I was looking around some, but I couldn't really find their chart positions. I did however see that "You're Gonna Miss Me" only got to #56, not #55, but either source could be wrong, so I don't know what to believe.
