cherice and honor seed, yes those were excilent. i din't really think of them in this catigory. but yes now those WERE good. and before rowan and martin, the smothers brothers had a show for a little while. of course the networks pulled them because, lets face it, they were a bit TOO honest for television. so they gave us rowan and martin, who were ok, but really tamer pets of the mainstream, all the pretty colors aside.

adams family i think came a little later, and of course the other networks, one of them, if one had the adams family then the other just HAD to have the munsters.

The Addams Family was definitly a good show. I also used to watch Full House, Step By Step... they just don't make 'em like that anymore!

I'm not sure what the criteria for these sitcoms are, but THIRD ROCK FROM THE SUN was notably hilarious!

I quite like those sitcoms. I'm still(re-runs = good idea) a big fan of Full House, Family Matters, Blossom, though, I personally didn't really get into Rosanne. Rosanne DID have funny moments, but I just didn't really watch it often. The same is said about Married With Children, too. I also like Family Ties, Growing Pains, and Home Improvement, though, again, I haven't watched a lot of their episodes......so far.

I remember watching fullhouse as a kid, i was a year older than the olsen twins and i remember always watching it since i was like 5 and it was good while growing up I actually got into it but now if an apisode comes on these days i just laugh at it because its so corny. We used to tape every episode on vhs and still have them i think. I'm sure are recorded over with football games and movies.

the main thing i remember about what the phrase conjures in my mind, is they're the main reason i don't watch the damd thing now. that and it's unstated but all permiating bias against anything that might actualy work and be universaly gratifying as well as environmentaly harmonious as a way of life.

sitcoms go all the way back to the earliest days of RADIO. long before even i was born. before there even was such a thing as television. very very rairly were they ever even remotely funny. family or otherwise. a couple of good things have been mentioned.

but sitcoms and westerns are what the airwaves that could have been put to far more creative use were filled with instead, so that sponsers could sell their post toasties, and to hell with creative expression and broadcast media's potential for it.

i'd have traded even the best of them, for silent unedited travilogs, that actually explored the rest of the world the way i can now on the net. have been doing since the earliest days of my having access to it. dispite political isularity's all but vissible opposition to our doing so.

no. sorry. television has always been an extremely bitter disapointment to me. and having sitcoms and the rest of entertainment with a capitol e shoved down our throats instead of actually being able to see anything interesting on it is what made it so. and for the most part pretty much continues to.
