haha i think we posted at the same time there.

FOR THE RECORD SUBLIME IS NOT REGGAE!!!!! They're in a genre all their own....its called.....lazy white boy stoner music. lol. No offense. I just cant stand sublime. I hate bands led by strung out dope addicts that only sing about being a strung out dope addict. Its sad.

They have major reggae influence and i think thats fucked up to talk about a group in general when it was the lead singer who obviously had problems and in turn died because of it. Its good music and its not all about dope, but I guess you havent heard enough of it to just throw the stereotypical comment around because you know he ODed on H. To each is own I guess but some people have problems and to call them a strung out dope addict then you'd be disgracing any great musician who has passed untimely from run ins with substances

Jimi, Janis, Jim are just a few shit happens they still made good music

Sublime also had punk and ska rock influences...does that make them punk or ska too? No. Influences dont mean shit other then they add different elements to the sound. They dont necessarily define the genre of music. Does that make sense? Ive met the long beach dub all stars [the remaining members of sublime] and trust me...theyre lame. They were all so drunk it was hard to take them seriously as musicians. At one point in my life I owned every single Sublime album...Meth and dope is a pretty constant theme across the board there.
So...how can my comment be stereotypical when its true?

Funny considering long beach broke up because of some of the members not wanting to follow the sober lifestyle some people can change others cant but its no reason to judge them because they're "drunk" or "high" so were alot of other musicians its stupid to not like a group because of their personal choices. Yea i never said they were reggae I said they were influenced which is why some people categorize them as reggae as some do ska i dont see as much punk in their music point out a song though. Either way the remaining members werent the dope users that was bradley and hes deceased because of it so to call them lame because you met them one time while they were obviously "drunk" as you said and probably having a good time means pretty much nothing. People drink, so what people do prescription pills on a daily basis as long as they make music for people to enjoy i see no harm.

Ahoy KK … I never said Jah Praising, I said Jah Guide … and I gave my 2p, I said I’m with Mandy on this one.

Blab, Blab, OK … Sublime played themselves, all of them did, not just the Bro that OD’d … they played themselves because their career was based on being wired. So their blessing and talents was taken away, and according to the Biblical Scriptures, has been or will be passed onto those more disserving.

    Jah Guide!

Ahoy... LOL, you looking for someone to tangle with ... hahaha ... nah, seriously, I'm not keen.

OK, OK … I will say though that for many years, and I have no idea what's changed, but wired meant wired .... uppers, downers, whatever ... drugs are drugs, being wired is being wired.

Oh ja, when you insult the Scriptures … well that’s The Most High that you are diss’n. I dare you to now do it again, but this time consciously …

    One Love!

    lol
    I like this convo

KK....For me music is so much more than a good beat or a cool sound. I like music with a feel to it. Ya know? I dunno...maybe its because for me I listened to Sublime religously when I was like 16, depressed, and stoned all the time so whenever I hear sublime now it reminds me of that era in my life....so...because Ive grown from that mentality and am completely sober and have been for like erm...10 years...Ive also grown from the music. When I was younger I was also really into Janis, the Dead, and The Doors....but now that Im older...I cant help but to think...Wow....its sad to me that those talented young souls had so much power to make a change in this world through their revolutionary styles but instead were too self indulgent to see beyond their own noses and that led to their downfalls. Maybe Im just getting old or something but I think if you ever are lucky enough to ride on the curtails of your talents and actually make a name for yourself in this world...and have people pay money to see you then you at least have a responsibility to not be drunk for the 1 hour youre on stage. lol.
The sublime Cd that has a lot of punk and ska influence is called "Garden grove"? Shit now I cant remember.... Gwen Stefani is on there too before she became lame.

This is actually a decent sublime song cuz the lyrics are meaningful and their is def a punk influence......as long as a lil reggae....=]
