A few cds from my collection that are very unlikely to be recommended to you by the rest of the people here, but I think everybody should give a try. These cds are kind of out of the ordinary in comparison to the rest of my collection too. Solefald - In harmonia universali Brilliant experimental black metal with lots of jazz-influences and weird lyrics. Varied, and quite mind-blowing. Falkenbach - Ok nefna tysvar ty Beautiful melancholic Germanic folk on a thin bed of mid-tempo black metal ( with mostly clean singing though ). Great relaxing music. Omnia - Crone of war "Neo-celtic pagan folk" with a Discordian attitude, played on self-made Iron-age instruments. 100% acoustic. Songs ranging from happy and powerful to sad and delicate. Tori Amos - Scarlet's walk Super dreamy and super beautiful. And um... yeah, that's everything to say about it.
hhhhhhhhhm, modest mouse, the shins, maroon 5, bob marley, (if you like instrumentals) the "Chocolat" soundtrack <LOVE IT!, the beatles (obviously), Lenny Kravitz, The Bobs (<amazing accapela band), and ask me later i may be able to think of some more lol.
Jump Little Children- they have some more "poppyer" songs, but all of their songs have great lyrics, beautiful singing voices, and overall amazing musicianship. Plus many of their songs feature mandolins, fiddles, and... TIN WHISTLE (my love). Very Irish sounding at some parts. I suggest the songs Dancing Virginia, Cathedrals, and Close Your Eyes. Also Carbon Leaf is an excellent band. They are similar to Jump but focus more on Irish folksongs as key pieces in their albums. For them, download Mary Mac, The Boxer, and One Prairie Outpost. Other good bands similar to them are: *Guster *Great Big Sea
KISS, Metallica, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Foghat, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden...... good stuff
If you like reggae: Steel Pulse, Peter Tosh, Black Uhuru, Eek-a-mouse. If you like Jack Johnson and hip hop. Check out G-Love and the special sauce.
