real acid or not?

ergot is a precursor to LSD. all of it is synthetic, despite its source. there is no natural LSD. regardless of where it comes from or how it is made, the final product is still LSD and would henceforth have the same characteristics of all other LSD.

it DOES glow under a black light, but of course, so does white paper.

 

Your Wrong - I don't care what a web site says I know for a fact its wrong. I was eating acid when you were playing with GI Joes, and we heard the same thing back when I was in high scholl and we tried it with real hits a few times and let me tell you they did not glow, I think LSD is LSD not nucler waste. So go take real hits and try it you will see don't belive every thing you read on the net, take it first and from someone who knows !!!

Not all LSD is synthetic. just like there are synthetic opiods and opiods made from the poppy plant, Most LSD is Synthetic because the chemist making it do not have access to ergotamine tartrate, a substance derived from the ergot fungus used to make LSD. Some LSD is made from ergot and the LSD that is would not be considered Synthetic ?

 

yeh but lsd isnt takin straight from the ergot....other things are done sythetically right?...i mean its not like an lsa extraction, its very complex so ive heard. I dont know tho im not a chemist, thats just what ive always thought...i could be wrong

but none the less...erowid isnt just some random website. It's THE website...all there information is backed up by legit sources...they arnt the wikipedia of the drug community. If they say lsd glows, i beleive them

 

PsychMyke sorry if you think I got pissed at you I did not, I was just trying to make my point. LSD does not glow dude, I am telling you. Take a few hits that are on any color Blotter paper other then white and you will see, or better yet if you ever get a vile of liquid then you can see with out a dout. If this were the case rip off artist would take a black light markers and put a dot on fake hits.

 

your prolly right...i have no experience the black light test so i have no ground to stand on...if youve tried it i beleive you. Maybe its just the raw crystal that glows? Just a thought.

 

You know what I can't say for sure if it glows or not. I know that LSD on paper hits does not glow at all. Me and my friends back in high school heard the same thing and people in College use to think that also after until they tried it and saw it did not work. it is a Urban myth with paper hits? But on the other Hand a vile of Liquid LSD might glow I have no idea. Maybe it does.

Also erowid is not the last word when it comes to drugs. Don't get me wrong they are a great sight with alot of great info, but don't think every thing they say is written in stone !!!!

Technically lsd is semi-synthetic, since it is part natural and part man-made. Lsd does fluoresce under uv light. I don't know why it didn't fluoresce for you, but it won't really work with blotter, it really needs to be disolved in a liquid for it to work. Not all "blacklights" are real uv lights, the cheaper ones are not emitting uv, they just painted. Glowing under uv light has nothing to do with being radioactive, it is two totally seperate things. A blacklight won't prove it is real either, because there are many chemicals that fluorsce under uv.

Alright I just read a few threads on other sights about LSD glowing under a black light, And from what I got not all LSD glows under a black light and some does glow under a black light, And if it does glow it is not the LSD it is the impurities in some LSD that reflect UV light and glow, other post I read where just like this one some people said it glowed for them others said it did not, some times real hits glowed sometimes they did not. So in my opinion I would not alwayscount on the black light test when it comes to LSD ?

It is not the impurities that fluoresce (glow), it is the lsd. It absorbs uv light at about 323nm and reemits it at around 433nm, meaning that it glows a blue color. This is a long known property of the molecule, that even law enforcement agencies have been using for years, as a preliminary test for lsd identification and estimating concentrations of it in solution. But like I mentioned earlier, several other compounds also fluoresce, under uv, a similar blue color, like mescaline, psilocybin, ibogaine and phen-cyclidine, so it not a sure method for identification.

 

when you get real acid hits you'll know their real instantly. just their tiny, they got a picture, and you'll just know.

I heard this glow theory every now and then over the years from people at Dead shows, Phish shows, Raves, festivals and from other places where you an find LSD pretty easy. I also heard this from people in general over the years at college and from kids in other towns when I was in high school. But most people I know think its a urban myth and a bull shit way to see if the tabs they bought are real or not. But now sence I have read up on it a little more I don't think that is totaly true. I have changed my opinion on the glowing LSD theory. Alright From what I have read and heard on alot of other sights and this might be wrong but alot of places say the same thing so I think its true. Its not the LSD that glows it the chemicals used in some batches of LSD that glow, meaning that some LSD will glow and some will not from UV lights, Like I said and tried also. sometimes you can have real hits and try this method and nothing will happen at all the LSD will not glow. on the other hand people have tried it with acid and it glows for them. I myself with friends only tried this 4 or 5 times after buying LSD, I hated getting riped off when buying hits when I was younger and did not have good conections Yet. Me and my friends only tried this maybe 5 or 6 times with paper hits and window pain hits and they were real hits but they did not glow at all so I stoped using this method becasue I found dealers that I knew the LSD I was getting was real and I just did not belive it worked, Maybe other hits I got during the yearas after mwould have glowed under a black light who knows. I do belive now after reading what I have read that some LSD hits do glow under a black light. But from what I have also read and from what I have also saw with my own eyes most will not. If thismethid makes you feel safe then buy all means use it. but you might thikn they hits are fake and not buy them when in fact they are real.I myself would not rely on this method to see if the hit are real or not. like I said it all depends on how the chemist cooks up there batch. And if you think this is 100% a way to tell real LSD or not all someone has to do is take a black light marker and dot each hit.. I just wish the few times in my life when I was lucky enuff to drop Liquid LSD or come across Jell cap hits that I tried this test just to see, I would of love to see a vile of liquid glow !
