i cant fucking find tea tree oil! ye, to add more acidity, therefore cleaning power, we may increase the lemon juice. hehe.
Ok guys! I have 25 minutes till rinse! There was browny pale water coming out! Yummm! 13 weeks of no washing hair! Will get some pics up when I rinse & let you know how it goes. Should I just let it dry by itself or blow dry it? Ta Alex
I found that Walgreens for $9 and Wal-Mart for $5-6 has tea tree oil in the vitamin section, small bottle goes a long way.
Hi mamamojo, keep the faith with this concoction to get rid of the wax! Trust me I have just got the last of the wax outta my hair with the 2T sea salt, 3/4 of a cup baking soda, 2T lemon juice, 10 drops tea tree and between 10-15 drops orange oil concoction! I was also leaving it wrapped in a towel for about 30 mins before washing it out. Good luck!
Hey Joe - how many times did you have to scrub it? I scrubbed my hair in just plain hot hot hot water last night, let it soak some and scrubbed it with Bronner's. How often did you wash with SE's concoction and for how long?
About 4-5 times it has taken for me, but I did it every couple of days or so. Firstly I use this concoction (you may wanna try your own quantities of some of the ingrediants though. You'll know what feels right!), left it on for 20-30 mins, wrapped in a towel. Then washed it thoroughly with Dr Bronners, get a good lather goin!! Obviously wash the bronners out then get ya hair dry. I was pleasantly surprised with both the results and how quickly it worked! I was expecting to have wax in my hair for months. I think you said that you were applying wax daily so you may need a few more washes.
this conconction sounds genius, guna try it out once my dreads are eligible for washing (first day of having my dreads)
OMG! This is so good! I love the OP! They are so much tighter! Thankyou You should have seen the colour of the water coming out after! Alex
yea she had a pretty heavy buildup so im guessin shes got sa bit of work to do, but after a few times u should see improvement ..if your hairs literaly glued togerher with that crap though imptovement might mean your dreads come apart alot but once you get all that crap out they'll be fine redreading on theyree oewn
Dredlocks or no I don't have filthy hair so I went into this believing not much would happen and I'd have no horrible tale to tell as to what came from my hair. I was right. My hair rinsed clean and even after shampooing and rinsing well it feels crispy around the loose ends and roots and looks about as cute. What I mean to say is my hair obviously didn't need to cleaning and the only results I see are negative. My hair looks and feels gross. I'm the first to report this, I think. Perhaps some years from now if I feel my hair needs another go (doubt this) I'll try again but for now I see no upside in following this.
hey, where to buy tea tree oil?? technically, Tea tree oil is used as antiseptic. is it rite? sounds hard to find tea tree oil in Indonesia. any suggestion to find an alternate antiseptic instead of..?
Sorry for wording that so stupidly. My hair was unpleasant at roots and tips because those are the places it's less or not at all knotty. If I wasn't dredlocked it would have been an all over horror, I think, but the locks concealed most of what I didn't like. It means that I wasn't born with them (though my daughter was!), have not always had them and regardless of how knotted my hair is I feel the same - I clean my hair and have not been into anything that could have nestled itself into my locks.
it has nothing to do with loose hair as I have some still-undreaded bits of hair that came out clean and shiny after using this concoction. Perhaps you used too much of a certain ingredient or didn't rinse out enough?
I can see improvement just after 2 hot hot hot washes. I just filled my tub with water as hot as it gets out of the faucet (which is pretty damn hot) and dipped the length of my hair in it for as long as I could stand it (I was upside down, in the heat LOL). The water was too hot for me to scrub my hair in it so I added some cool water and scrubbed the hell out of them. They are much frizzier and fuzzier. I followed up with Bronners. I am going to do it again tonight. I think I can get all the wax out and not have to start over!
That's not what I meant really but no, I followed directions, rinsed very well, shampooed and still not for me.
