yea it is i preffer using it over anything else, although i do find that i get fuzzier if i use only itt for months at a time
right now im at the point of using iot 3 outr of every 4 times and bronners the othrr 1 time (and although im less fuzzy and lil tighter after that 1 time my scalp feels worse and dreads dry and not as soft)

I've tried this before, works good. I usually wash with baking soda and sometimes a little tea tree mixed in. ACV also works great for deep cleaning.

    BUMP :D
i just used it. i replaced the lemon with lime, though. it seems to have the same effect. it does...cleanse deep. it works better than any shampoo i've tried. it's cheaper, too! :D

I too vote in favor of stickying this very useful thread, and combining it with the deep cleanse

Let me first off say hello to everybody as I am a newbie to this forum and secondly thank you so much Kyndmama for sharing this great concoction.

I have had my dreads for 6 years this August and I wash them once a week but lately have not felt like they are getting really clean, so last night I started searching around and found this forum and thread and was stoked. So today I went out and purchased the ingredients and filled my kitchen sink with nice hot water and mixed up the concoction.

WOW literally as I started to scrub and wash my dreads the water turned a murky gray brown color. I then wrapped my head up for a half hour and then went to the shower to rinse and was somewhat disgusted and fascinated at the amount of brown water being rinsed out. I kept rinsing and wringing out my dreads until clear water came out. I am now letting my dreads air dry for a bit before I take the hair dryer to them.

Thank you again for sharing this great formula. This thread and formula are the reasons I joined cause I had to say thank you.

Just read this whole thread, it sounds like a brilliant concoction! I was planning on primarily using Dr. Bonners, but I must try this out. Would this deep clense be worth doing before real dreads have formed (I just have freshly backcombed hair at the moment).
