I'm going to try this today! Just have a couple of stupid questions -
Does '3/4 c' mean 3/4 cup and, if it does, does anyone know how this converts to english measurements? I've read somewhere that it's 12 tablespoons but that seems like quite a lot.
    Also, does '2 T' mean 2 teaspoons?
Sorry to be clueless! Can't wait to try it out.

Yes ~2 T is Tablespoons and c is cup, thanks for tryin and good luck! I don't REALLY measure, just guess........Something else that is really important is the size of the bowl , itt seems that people are ending up with a pasty solution where it should be quite diluted ~ I use a 3-4 gallon bowl of HOT waer

to clean out wax all u need to do is get rly hot water but not enuf that it burns ure head and wash ure dreads with it. the hot water will melt the wax out of your hair.

i suggest after doing that use this deep cleaning concoction.

this crazy mix helped out a lot, when I rinsed that water was really brown and I've had my dreads for about 3 months now.

Yesthis will get the wax out of your dreads. Not instantly though.

Make the solution water as hot as possible. I use a water from a kettle! If you dip your dreads in the bowl carefully, you won't end up with a scalded scalp..

It saved mine. I've done maybe 5 of these rinses, started off doing one every fortnight, now I try to do one every other month.

Definately give it go. You'll see the effect in the water!

    Later days :)

so glad I came across this. I'm off to some sea salt and more baking soda. I think that my dreadies are clean but I guess I'll see how dirty they actually are. I use baking soda and lemon juice mix to clean pretty much everything in the house (being enviro friendly[IMG]) but who would've thought I'd use it to clean my hair? Brilliant!

just finished rinsing my dreads out. This actually works kids. It took me about 4-5 rinses in the laundry tub till the water came clean and my dreadlings are squeaky clean. Lush.

    Thanks for the tip kyndmama.

last night i bleached my hair and then dyed it brown and blue again, and after i was done i rinsed all the shit out and then filled the sink up with hot water, dumped a bunch of salt and tea tree oil in, and squeezed a lemon into the sink. i soaked my head and scrubbed it, and today it is smelling fabulous and looking good :)
    thanks for the idea!
