So Then The Relationships You Do Forge And The People You Do Get Close To Are Just That Much More Special & Meaningful Because It Didn't Come Easily. The End. I Have A Close Friend Who Has An IQ Of 162. He Has A Very Difficult Time Socially. People Consider Him Insensitive, Condescending, And A 'Know It All' I Have A Cousin Who Is Severely Mentally Retarded. As You Can Imagine, He Also Has A Difficult Time Socially, Of Course. Guess Who I Feel Worse For. Your Intelligence Is A Gift, Not A Burden.
i realize intelligent people have some things going for them. and i realize that while i want to think people with a lower iq have it better across the board, i know its not the case in reality. but its hard to say its a gift and not a burden. its never done anyone any good as far as i can see.
Intelligent people usually have a good sense of humor. Not always, but I find it generally to be the case.
It's Never Done Anyone Any Good As Far As You Can See Because You Choose To Not See It For The Gift It Is. When You Let All Of The Doubts Or Negativity Go And Embrace It For What It Is, Then You'll Find A Balance, And It Will Start Working For You. If Your IQ Is Higher Than 140, There Is Really No Limit On What You Can Do.
I Was Wondering The Same Thing Myself. Its Not That Its Hard To Do So Much As It's Hard To Read. I Keep Seeing A Big Letter And Thinking "Oh, Boy! A New Sentence!" it is tedious, but not toooo bad. honestly i just type in all lower case most of the time simply out of sloth. if i care to write properly, i'm generally capable. BUT HEY AT LEAST YOU AREN'T TYPING IN ALL CAPS AND SCREAMING AT EVERYBODY!
in general terms i feel art is the only really valuable thing you mentioned. medicine i have mixed feelings about. discovery for its own sake is...well....i dont know. pursuit of knowledge just to possess it seems unnecessary
i couldnt read more than a few pages of "a brief history of time" before i had to just give up. i tried and tried, and even so early in the book it was waaaay over my head....
Oh, shit, Nesta, I was thinking about reading that. Have you read any other of Hawking's books? Has anyone? I know he's got another one, "The Universe in a Nutshell," that might be easier. He's also got "A Briefer History of Time" coming out in May, where apparently he updated the science and tried to make it somewhat easier to understand.
oh shit i've wasted too much time on here. see you guys later, i need to shower very quick so i can go to work
