How the fuck does he look Asian you cant even clearly see his face he looks like a typical white kid and who cares about his Avatar i have Morpheus as mine and im not black.

I think Vig and Glen are rastas some other dude from Australia also so maybe they could help you out but im only rasta sometimes. Id go with KnottyBoy cause it sounds cooler and they have black dread wax so it will blend in with your hair its more ital than clear wax because they use animal fats in that one.

    lmao^

    um....
    dude....
when did you decide to "become a rasta" and why?
rasta don't use wax, and they don't fuck with their hair. to force your hair to lock would not be what rasta do. stop brushing and just wash it. it will turn into locks eventually.

i would highly recommend you learn all you can about rasta before claiming you are one, and also don't go on any of those dread product websites.
    cancel your dreadkit order.

no offense, as i realize you are one of the few black people that frequent this forum, but this step by step thing is for someone with your hair type , not the original posters. why do you keep doing that?

Big up to this..... Being rasta doesn't mean dreads and pot smoking... I'm sure a lot of people with dreads don't follow the Rastafari faith. I for one don't, yet am growing dreads and smoke piles of weed....

Because it applies to locs in general. Look at timelimes. Especially freeforms on Caucasians. After a while you start to see why I call coils and yall call loops. You have to wait for it or create them by backcombing or something else but you're still getting a curl/coil into your hair. More time and you start to see small knotted parts within each dreadlock. Even more time and the whole loc is tightened up and loced. The only real difference between the process that I can see is that my ends will likely end up blunted because my hair is extremely curly and someone else's (yours maybe I haven't seen your hair...uhm a good example is Liz's...the one who works with animals) have naturally ended up wispy because her ends are generally straight.

I keep referencing that because it's what I see when I see people on the street and on here.

the coil part bothers me. people with straight hair don't usually have coils it's more like and accordian.

The person who's not deadset on the idea that black people's and any other people's dreads must be completely different would either a) ask about the coil statement or b) realize that coil might not be 100% dead on for everyone but it creates a good mental picture as far as letting folks know your hair is going to wrap around itself. :D

Liz6363 I just wanted to make sure you knew I didn't think your ends were a bad thing. Just making an observation. I've had hair dye on the brain so your dreads stand out everytime I see your siggy.

ummm, i'm not deadset. coil is not the correct term. plus, i just get sick of seeing people with recommending their methods to people with different hair types. A lot of people will just be like 'Oh, you can just twist it and put beeswax in it"....well, that doesn't work for people with straight hair, at least not if they want actual knots.

No one should put beeswax in their hair no matter what type of hair they have. It's not water soluble, it doesn't nourish the hair and it attracts lint. Someone who is suggesting beeswax is along the same lines of someone suggest KnottyBoy wax.

Your ignorance is getting a little annoying Vig. What's rip and twist if not twisting the hair and then letting it go? (Or maintaining your roots if that's your wish.)

If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck no matter what the hell you call it it's still a goddamn duck.

OP is the worst kind of troll. The kind that actually plans on participating.

    OP how old are you?

    My ignorance. Fuck that!
You think you are being helpful, but ignorant people with straight hair often take the advice of people with your hair type and end up with coil perms, beeswax, honey etc etc. if you give advice make sure it pertains to that person's hair type!

Vig someone gave you bad advice somewhere along the line and you're sore about it. That's fine. People that are HERE are ALREADY ASKING QUESTIONS either about how to proceed or how they've already proceeded. The typical person who asks for advice asks for it to be clarified if they don't understand it or they're not as dumb as you might think they are because they aren't "neglecting" and they can comprehend what I've posted. Unless there are people out there who don't get what I've posted and they aren't speaking up; you're the only one with the issue. If something pertains to just my type of hair I'd say that. The thing is, whether you like it or not, hair is hair. The only difference between races is degree of curl. There are white people with coarse, thick hair that's still kinda straight and there's black people with soft, thin hair that's super curly. Porosity and thickness is going to difference from person to person and really independent of race, although each race tends to have a common set up.

It's been nice dealing with you. I'm responding to your last post in MY thread and then I'm using the ignore feature and letting you rant/rave and be elitist with yourself.

I never looked for advice on locks, I just see it happen a lot. You don't know me or my life. I know you're obsessed with your 3c/4d/6a/f3 hair curl type shit, but the fact is different hair types lock differently. I'm not an elistist, if someone wants to choose a method that is not neglect, I would give them the best advice I could pertaining to their hair type. Just because no one is speaking up in this thread, doesn't mean they haven't in the past about the same subject. I don't need a gang of people to support my views anyways. i'm trying to have a civil conversation about this, but you are starting to flame and you are also running away since you "ignored me" in "your" thread.

    lmao.

    anyways, i hope the op:
    -reads up on rasta
-and reads the sticky entitled "please read or risk getting flamed"
