thank you for an excellent response.

Mike: false rape and rape destroy the lives of individuals, steal the freedom and innocence of the victim. They are abhorrent. While the very act may not break cheek bones, god knows what happens once they are in jail...as if the loss of their freedom is not enough. While the victim of false rape may not be 'forced to confront the deeply held religious beliefs about abortion,' he is forever stigmatized as a rapist. Jesus, you dont even need to get convicted of a crime in this country to be called a murderer or rapist. The very act of being charged destroys lives.

edit: no one is trying to say that they are 'worse,' by any means, but i think there are plenty of merits of discussion on false rape with regards to this device.

OK then. Lets stop this evil spate of false accusation.
Once that important work is done, will we have time to work on the relatively minor issue of women being beaten and having a penis painfully forced into their vaginas?

EDIT: (to myself and others) STOP!!
I think that we are on the same side. This is a silly quarrell. I agree that false accusation is wrong and hurts the cause of rape prevention. I am sure that you want rape to stop.

On one hand, false accusation is bad.
On the other, its odd (sexist?) that a discussion about preventing the rape of women turns into "but what about the men" .

    Peace and truth to all.

*shakes his head* Because we can only do ONE or the other. I dont get what you're hoping to achieve by doing this.

It is because of this device.

I would agree with you if this thread was about another means to prevent rape, like neighborhood watches, better lighted streets, etc. Then the discussion of fale rapse accusations is just out of place. But this device causes serious bodily harm to a male, it directly involves men. I dont think any of us would shed a tear if this thing destroys the genitals of a rapist, but since women could potentially use this against men they don't like....i think the discussion is merited.

    Thats just me.

Well, about the device. People may have missed the observation (guess) that the device cannot be hidden from a moderate amount of forplay. It would make a funny looking glove finger.

As you and others have noted, there are other ways that a woman can harm any of her sexual partners.

I would definitely feel more comfortable being raped while wearing this product.

Misuse is misuse - the victims deserve some kind of protection.

I COMPLETELY agree with MikeE. Getting raped is worse than being "accused" of raping someone. Neither is nice, but being accused, isn't an invasion of your body. Complete with fear of carrying a pregnancy of a criminal, having your organs often mutilated, and very often being given a disease, along WITH the social stigma. Being accused ONLY has the social stigma, with NONE of the other stuff. EVERY discussion of rape should not degrade into "but what about all those poor guys who get falsely accused?" THAT isn't the subject. With that, I will delete any more posts which ONLY address the UNCOMMON situation of a man being "falsely accused" of raping someone in this thread. This is NOT what this thread is about.

RAPE always causes serious bodily harm to the female, it directly involves womyn and rape is ALWAYS used against womyn "they don't like."

IMO, how is this device WORSE than a gun? The purpose is to "defend" yourself and to cause bodily injury to your attacker. Same as a gun. Anyone who can say "Carrying a gun is self defense." Has NO defense against this device.

    Nuff said.

Then i'm sure that you'll have NP providing this device only to law abiding citizens after a thorough background check and not over the counter.

Sure...............unless they can get them totally legally at "Rapex" shows, without a license. Do "Long Barrel Hunting Rapexes" have the same restrictions as hand held ones? They aren't as easy to conceal. What about Fully Automatic Military Assault Rapex? :X Should Congress get involved?

"If Rapex is OutLawed, Only Outlaws will cut the penises off of rapists".......or something like that. Of maybe, "You take my Rapex away from me, when you can pry it outta my cold dead Yoni"

Damn, I should write copy for adverts.

I never even said I thought this was a particularly good idea, for the USA, in the first place....my original concern was womyn in heavily rape concentrated areas.

Yes, being accused isn't an invasion of your body, however the consequences of being accused, say having your freedom taken, etc.. Are an invasion of your very existence.

Especially since rape is essentially a society-sponsored method of punishment (ie: maximum security prisons).

    Good question.
It's not legal to use claymores/booby traps against Folks here in Texas.
This device seems to be more of a booby trap than legal weapon.

Just bear in Mind what a County court (No. 3 to be exact) judge told me
'ya can beat the rap but ya can't beat the ride'...

i don't think we need it. My uncle was accused of rape by his girlfriend. She was pissed because he was leaving her and her two daughters (from a previous marriage) and she decided to charge him with rape. I believe this product will help more vidictive bitches like that put her "rapist" in jail

I never said it wasn't a huge problem here. I said rape is a huge problem in South Africa, worse than here.

BEING raped, mutilated and "shamed" is MORE of an "Invasion of your very existance."

We are DONE with the "what about the poor guys who get falsely accused" on THIS thread. Already said this TWICE. Please stay ON TOPIC. The topic of this thread is not whining about "those poor guys" who get "falsely accused."

I notice that the Rapex web site has no pictures, lists no prices, offers no method for purchase, is "Under Construction" and was copywritten in 2004. It also claims that the Rapex will be available in the last half of 2006 and will cost less than a standard condom.

All this leads me to be suspicous about the reality of the Rapex device.
