uhg...dont get into a hip-hop argument with me because u will lose. underground hip hop IS 90% crap, no matter how u put it, it is. the underground hiphop lately is "geek" rap, rap which has no fucking meaning what so ever, all it is is words thrown together that might sound good or rhyme, but have no meaning what so ever i could list countless underground artists of who's album's i've reviewed in which u can listen to 12+ tracks, and not define what 1 song is about or even remotely about, because all it is is POINTLESS RHYMING that isnt hiphop, pure hiphop comes from the streets/heart not some kid making remix's in his basement listen to these 2 songs [these are just 2 that pop into my head right now] Eminem - Like toy soldiers Nas - new york state of mind - debateably one of best hiphop songs ever ^those songs Define the word STRUCTURE now, after listening to those songs, try to tell me that the most popular underground artists, who arent even underground anymore really ie. pharcyde, slug, eyedea all the rhymeslayers, will EVER come close to a song like those 2 no. the closest underground rapper who was worth of breaking out was Del, and he did it with the Gorillaz, i give him mad props because he actually did somthing different.
like I said before, diffrerent types of music appeal to different populations. Maybe to you rap is 90% crap, but that's to you. Rap has left what it used to be. Now, if you mean that by crap, then you are correct. If not, then no. Hip hop is always changing and just because it is not the same, it is not crap. I don't really listen to country music because I can't relate to most of it, but I don't go around calling it crap. Music is different in every individuals ear. really...music isn't crap if people listen to it. So in reality, the real music that is crap is the music that is nonexistent.
i can say 99% of commercial rap is bad, and 100% of underground hiphop is good but thats my opinion, those numbers dont mean anything, its not a fact, its an opinion, accordingly, a statement like that cant stand as anything other than opinion because as stunt said diff. music appeals to diff people.

rap isn't all that bad. it's just expressing urself and ur feelings just as much as any other kind of music. some people wouldn't consider it music since there are no actual instruments or anything, just synthasized beats, but whatever. some rappers exagerate too much and make everything sound so terrible even though they haven't gone through half the shit they talk about, but others know what they're talking about and kids know where they're coming from, so it appeals to young people. i only like some rappers and sometimes i enjoy listening to them, but othertimes i just hate how they make up all this shit and exagerate how terrible their fucking lives are. peace & love.

Either that or we were hippies over two years ago, and have decided to stay here because the site isn't entirely made up of the type of idiot hippies we were over two years ago and now are very annoyed with, so it's tolerable enough to maintain our previous relationships with the non-obnoxious veteren members. Even if they do keep leaving because morons like you are multiplying, and ruining what was once a nice community. So what part of you is hippie?
