    I think this means that the black community, or the inner city community, however you wanna put it, is blaming the white community for everything and many are just waiting for someone to feel sorry for them and help them out, instead of helping themselves.

    He ask if money is the root of all evil, or is it just people's minds from being you bad situations.

    This in no way promotes violence...It is saying that black males, are an endangered species. But they go around shooting just to scare others away.

    A lot of people are just trying to be cool, but aren't going anywhere with it. Also, you can't just consider someone your friend because they are nice.

    People are always trying to be in style...they might be flashy on the outside, but they are really brainwashed. Nothing is clicking on the inside.

    rap music is full of metaphors and similes...so how you take it is up to you. But that is what I got out of that song. There's no heavy bassline, no girls' ooos and ahhhs, mixed in...it's just a simple snare and bass drumline laced with a melodic piano tune.

    So maybe the lyrics you posted are alright. But still 90% of rap sucks. I don't think it all sucks.

    I'd say 60%- 75% haha...but yea 90% is better than 100%.

    Two new songs that aren't too bad, which are being played as mainstream are:

    "Jesus Walks" (Kayne West).... some of the lyrics
    "Why" (Jadakiss).... again, some of the lyrics

    "Let's start rap over" (The Lox) goes into a little detail about how rap use to be

    good rap, to me, is just supposed to be beat poetry, performed in a spoken word style with music under it... it just so happened that hip hop morphed into it's own style of this, and very very few others have taken it in another direction.... I saw someone post some talib kweli... I had actually ran a search for that song him and mos def did on Chapelles show; very politically charged on top of that....

    you hate rap because uve only heard these new mainstreem rappers like nelly or something like that. u see rappers now a days have nothing to rap about, so they rap about stupid things like bitches and money. i rember the days when you had to have skills in this land of milk and honey. so do not judge rap from these new crap rappers. allways rapin how they for dinner eat expensive red snappers. so listen to what i say because this type of shit it happens every day.

    A 14 year old kid is tryin to give a lecture on old school rap? since when does that happen? He's right though some rap back then was tight. I usually only listen to it when me and the boys are rollin or somethin and some of them can freestyle so its all gravy baby

    If you are gonna listen to rap, you can't even think about turning on the radio or buying your cd's at a major record store. I respect your opinion, as I think people shouldn't attatch their egos to what they like or think is good, but if you want to give rap an honest listen, you gotta find the artists with substance. Check out anything on Definitive Jux records (Mr. Lif and Aesop Rock are the best on the label) or just check out Living Legends, People Under the Stairs, MURS, or Blackalicious. That's the good shit with substance. Ignore every rapper on TV and the radio at all costs. They are the ones you already don't like anyway, and since they are all rich, who the fuck cares what they do all day? That's my biggest complaint about rap in general.

    Why do these guys think we give 2 shits what they spend their time doing?
