rap music is full of metaphors and similes...so how you take it is up to you. But that is what I got out of that song. There's no heavy bassline, no girls' ooos and ahhhs, mixed in...it's just a simple snare and bass drumline laced with a melodic piano tune.

you hate rap because uve only heard these new mainstreem rappers like nelly or something like that. u see rappers now a days have nothing to rap about, so they rap about stupid things like bitches and money. i rember the days when you had to have skills in this land of milk and honey. so do not judge rap from these new crap rappers. allways rapin how they for dinner eat expensive red snappers. so listen to what i say because this type of shit it happens every day.

If you are gonna listen to rap, you can't even think about turning on the radio or buying your cd's at a major record store. I respect your opinion, as I think people shouldn't attatch their egos to what they like or think is good, but if you want to give rap an honest listen, you gotta find the artists with substance. Check out anything on Definitive Jux records (Mr. Lif and Aesop Rock are the best on the label) or just check out Living Legends, People Under the Stairs, MURS, or Blackalicious. That's the good shit with substance. Ignore every rapper on TV and the radio at all costs. They are the ones you already don't like anyway, and since they are all rich, who the fuck cares what they do all day? That's my biggest complaint about rap in general. Why do these guys think we give 2 shits what they spend their time doing?
