    Ah, have fun!

    And if the bus is full avoid the toilet on it :D I'm thinking maybe just try to sleep half of the time :p Doesn't get better than sleeping or reading after a few hours.... easiest way to prepare for too.

    The problem is I can't read in cars, on trains, buses....I get massive headaches.

    And I always avoid the toilet lol. Luckily, there are so many nice stops in Italy, so yeah.

    At least they'll have wifi available all the time.

    I have a problem with sleeping during travelling (I suck at taking naps too). I wish I could like I see others do it on a lengthy bus travel... but I have to be really depleted in energy to pull it off (so mostly on the way back home :-D). Reading is often doable.

    Yay, then the choice is eaily made! Finally we can expect some lengthy replies from you on hipforums! :D

    Flying into Cairo for a surprise birthday party for a buddy. A different friend is flying in from Turkey, and then him, my wife, and I will take the train down to Aswan. A few days cruise up the Nile back to Cairo and then fly over to Sharm El Sheikh for a little diving.

    Yes this actually affects me too. Nowadays it's gotten to the point where I can't say I like curvy women without someone assuming that I'm a chubby chaser. >_<

    Just sent a text message on my iphone and at the end of the message it put:

    ==64536== Address 0x0 is not stack'd, malloc'd or (recently) free'd
    ==64536==
    ==64536==
    ==64536== Process terminating with default action of signal 11 (SIGSEGV)
    ==64536== Access not within mapped region at address 0x0

    An iOS bug, sounds like someone dereferenced a null pointer .. a segfault. I've seen (unfortunately, but it come with the territory) these errors before myself. I suspect that it has something to do with the spell check / auto correct algorithm ... I wouldn't be surprised if Apple puts out an update/hotfix real soon ...

    I've been working on dosing myself with modalert and various nootropics. This time instead of taking everything at once, I spaced out the doses of modalert somewhat (well, like 20 or 30 minutes between) to build up to the target dose. Also spacing out dosing the other nootropics, i.e. not taking everything at once. I haven't taken everything at my disposal, as it might not be necessary and will take it later if I need too (call it quick-cycling). I think I'm going to leave out any caffeine for now, as I don't want to be overstimulated where it becomes unpleasant and gives me anxiety and this time I'm actually not really sleep deprived, but I might drink an energy drink later if I feel like I need it, but it can't be too late in the day because the caffeine will fuck with my sleep, I think taking caffeine after modalert "kicks back in" the modalert or something. I haven't taken any anxiolytics today, and will leave it out as long as I can.

    It's kicking in, the only problem I'm having is that I need to get some shit done, but I can't decide which thing to choose to work on. I'm afraid that if I don't pick something soon that I'll find myself stuck browsing the internet with no real purpose. The other problem is my brain seems to have made up its mind on what to work on, it wants to write some code, but the code it wants to write isn't related to anything that I'm actually "supposed to be working on".

    I'm not really a multi-tasking type of guy; well it kinda depends on what the tasks are. Like I can only do so much math in one session before my brain starts to get tired of it, and theres some other types of tasks that are this way but when I get tired of one, I can switch to another type of task like writing or something and my brain is okay with this for a while. Probably because the different tasks use different parts of the brain, so when one part gets tired, you can work on something else that uses different parts of the brain while the other part recovers.

    But there are some types of things that my brain really doesn't like to multitask on, or maybe its more accurate to say that I really don't like working on them in small chunks, I'd rather spend 12 hours straight working on the same thing. Programming shit seems to be like this, i can't just work on it for an hour, because after an hour I've just started to get things straight and know where I'm going and why I'm writing the shit that I'm writing. There are always problems that have to be debugged and if I just stop at a point where something is broken ... I don't like doing that because if I come back to it the next day I won't remember where I was in the process so I have to read all the code again to try to figure out what the fuck I was trying to do and where exactly I left off.

    The last issue is one of the things I want to work on requires that I use Windows (and this particular thing I can't get to work in in a virtual machine so I can run both OS at the same time), which is on a different hard drive in my computer meaning I have to shut down and reboot into that OS and the problem here is that hard drive doesn't have all of my music on it, and Windows can't read linux filesystems which means when I'm working in windows I won't have my music to listen to :/

    I'm thinking about copying over some of the music over to that hard drive (linux can read windows file systems, but not the other way around), but I have 318GB of music ... which according to a very rudimentary calculation assuming the worst possible transfer rate would take 54 minutes to copy (the hard drive with windows is a small and cheap one that I had to buy when one failed, and I'm sure its not the fastest thing in the world). A whole fuckin' hour, but I guess I'll start that now and work on something else while I wait for that to finish, I'll watch the I/O throughput and hopefully that new drive is faster than the transfer rate i used to arrive at 54min ... I can probably expect it to come down to 36 min or so if that drive can maintain a write speed of around 150M/s. Mainly though I need to get the fuck off the internet so I can start on anything, but most of the shit I have to use requires the internet.

    OH FUCK me, and fuck Windows 10

    Windows is hibernated, refused to mount.
    Failed to mount '/dev/sdc4': Operation not permitted
    The NTFS partition is in an unsafe state. Please resume and shutdown
    Windows fully (no hibernation or fast restarting), or mount the volume
    read-only with the 'ro' mount option.

    God fucking dammit microsoft ... so you force me to have to reboot and fix this shit because you've decided now that shutdown means hibernate now (lol, so it can boot faster, but linux still boots faster without any fuckin shit like that) ... I'll have to teach windows 10 how to shut down properly or figure out some other way to fuck with the filesystem so I can write to it, read only is not fucking acceptable.

    That's it, I'm just gonna put the music on an external hard drive... problem solved, anything other fuckery would be a waste of my time right now and piss me off. The external hard drive came formatted for windows (they have a mac version too, because those two systems can't read each others file system, you'd have to reformat for Mac to read on a Mac .. how convient and user friendly Apple and Microsoft make things) ... but I can read and write the drive from both windows and linux, but I can't wrap my mind around why it came from the factory with partitions that aren't properly aligned; they aligned the partitions for 512b sectors but the drive itself has 4k sectors, fuckin' facepalm. I can read/write from it but its probably (most likely) a performance hit, but I'm not gonna fuck with it unless i have problems with it.

    I've become very interested in nootropics and related fields. But I do agonise a little about the side affects and various issues.

    I also wonder about the USAGE of enhanced cognition. I mean the "smartest" person in the world probably isn't THAT smart. He just knows how to use people who ARE smart. Otherwise, the danger is, he might become some sort of idiot savant (as is often the case for mega-IQ people). Ever felt addicted to solving problems that don't need solving?

    I'm convinced that circulation and cardio vascular fitness have to be a key part of any cognitive enhancement. That and specific mental exercises. Various types of Qi Gong also seem to be quite helpful as they were sometimes developed to help scholars in ancient times etc.

    PS it sounds like you need to manage ADD too - just like me!

    I want to say Munchausen syndrome by proxy but the kid is already special needs which suggests the teacher is just one real mean bitch.

    If it wasn't on camera she would have said he simply fell down.

    What a BITCH!

    About video.....Thought she was just nudging the kid with her knee to go in the classroom.....as I have run across tons of huge people in my life with no concept of their strength or body mass.....but then she pushed him again at the end with her hand......
    How would she like it if someone bigger than her knudged her off her fat ass with their knee from behind, so she fell....and no awareness what was coming. She wouldn't....nor would anyone.
