nobody told them to get a shitty arts degree.. Maybe bricklaying would of been a better career option.. they are always building PRISONS..
The thing is, the government wants people dependent on it. One of the major ways they've taken people's freedoms away is through economic warfare. I agree that no one should suffer or starve because of a lack of money, which isn't even real. However, most people don't really understand how the system is set up, so they use the OWS people to champion causes that are actually favorable to the system itself, so they can later be implemented under the guise of popular support. One thing is certain: Wall Street doesn't run shit, and it goes a lot higher than fat cat CEOs. The OWS people want to give the government more power to reign in the evil corporations and banks, when the government is controlled by these very same corporations and banks. Some of the richest, most powerful people in the world are backing these protests, and it begins to make sense why once you connect the dots. I just cannot believe there are some people who believe the OWS protests are grassroots. No, they're funded by the same wealthy elite the moron protesters think they're protesting against. Why do you think the media has given these people so much attention and credibility? Because it's all a ruse.
I agree, it does make sense, and I can see that now. My support for them was only initially, back when it did seem plausible it was grass roots. I certainly don't see the government as being a solution to the economic crisis, I don't even think there is a solution, or even if it really matters...I don't think money is real either, and although I'm forced to utilize it and generally use it responsibly, I'm not at all stressed about whether or not the economy will recover. I do feel rather elitist saying that though, since my parents can afford to cover me financially and I'm going into a profession that can't be exported and will only grow in demand. If I came from a blue-collar background and had kids to feed, I'm sure I'd feel differently. I'm curious, though, since I'm sure you know way more about this than I do, if you think there's any solution at all. It seems that since they're controlling all sides of every socio-economic-political issue, that we're basically just fucked. If that's the case, it seems kind of like frantically researching your cancer diagnosis when you're already on your death bed--interesting, but not very beneficial at this point.
That is exactly what they're doing and always have done. I don't see any real solution because the people in control would never allow for it to happen. All people can do is live according to what they know, outside of the system as much as possible. I am not saying live like a hermit in the woods without electricity (though if you can manage it, that's great), but there are personal solutions that affect ones own life like living modestly, not accruing debt and living as self-sustainably as possible. I don't worry about this shit. I just like to have an understanding of what's going on.
Occupy is a movement not without merit but without foresight. You can not attempt to replace a system without another being in place. It will not work. Those who are at times the most vocal are the most detrimental to the movement of change as they have no idea of how to correct and prop the systems that they want to bring down. The do not have the foresight to know that if it ever comes down that the ones who will suffer the most are at the bottom and depend on the systems that they want to end for their very existence and ability to cope daily. Most in occupy would not survive under the collapse they tout to want. Change is only as effective as the ability to institute new change that is more effective. Otherwise the wheel is still broken. No one is entitled to more than they contribute. I do not mean that in a monetary sense.
i think people are culturally blind to what would really make a difference. not that i don't think making issues visible is a good thing too. but every car payment and tank of gas, feeds the corporate greed, and gives it the power to usurp the political process. as does every use of credit. credit IS indenture. demand public transportation, be nice to it, and USE it, as often as we can. energy production on the other paw can be decentralized beneficially. they've got solar panels, storage batteries and battery charging regulators for them at fry's now. and they're just not that expensive for enough to run the computer off of. and if you own a house, you just might think about a big enough wind and solar combination set up to run the fridge too. if you can afford to own a house, or a piece of land out in the boonies somewhere, you can afford to go solar.
It's being funded by foundations and NGOs, and given tons of attention by the media. It's controlled opposition.
The world will never be changed . We can only change ourselves , by waking up and refusing to be part of this so called "civilized society " . While these " movements" like o.w.s. and the tea party are good in the sense that they are gathering people together in a like cause to implement changes in our society . The don't go far enough to make real change . You can't fight the system from within the system . And we can scream and cry for change all we want , as long as we are still feeding the system monetarily in the form of loans, taxes , and buying products from big business nothing will ever change . Every thing we buy and every tax we pay , feeds the machine and keeps it rolling . And very few people have the intestinal fortitude to live outside the system , as basically an outlaw . But that is what has to happen , otherwise it's like wearing a raincoat in the shower. It's all going to fall under its own weight soon anyway . As long as these people believe in a two party corrupt political system , who are two sides of the same coin , controlled by the rich . Then nothing will ever change ! And the moment any grassroots political movement is tied to either one of these corrupt political parties right or left , they are doomed . Change will only come when we the people demand a real viable third political party for rebuilding and growing the middle-class, back to post world war 2 numbers, and rebuilding our plundered industrial base . . This will only come when a new real labor movement comes and begins to organize members . The current unions must be dismantled and done away with . They are sell outs to big business and corrupt . They exist today to waste their collected dues monies on corrupt democratic lifelong politicians and the lavish lifestyles of their union bosses . While their membership suffers at the bottom . Unions built the middle class in America , and were the sole reason the poor were able to move up to the middle class . It gave them hope and something to work hard for . The unions of today are not those unions of yesterday . They are a shell of their former selves . Weak and divided. They had two fatal flaws . Unions didn't expand globally , as the big employers they worked for did , cutting their own throat . Big employers were allowed to slip away out of the country away from unions , taxes , to exploit other countries labor . The other fatal flaw was , they were dependent on the rich big business owners to employ their union members , instead of unions becoming the worker/member owned businesses that employed their own members , and only their own members . Worker co-op unions would be a great place to start . In other words forming business co-ops where every worker is part owner and operator ,with an equal share in a business , as all the other co-op members . All profit divided equally among all other employees/owners . A democratic system of one man one vote to determine business decisions . Eliminate c.e.o.'s , middle management , and most importantly rich overlord owners to make money for . who live off the blood , sweat and tears of workers . This would result in higher pay and benifits for owner operators , a sense of pride and craftsmanship , and advancing all other co-op members together , back into the middle-class . By eliminating a top heavy non working owner who reaps most of the profits for themselves, that keep the upper class in power and control to the detriment of the lower classes . At the same time every co-opt union member would pay union dues to the co-opt union , to grow and form new worker co-opt businesses . And if and when grown large enough , would demand a real third party middle-class worker party choice . And eventually be big enough to dictate its own terms . Like only doing business with other 100 % worker owned co-ops . The rich couldn't compete in this environment , nor would they or their capital no longer be wanted or needed. It would work . And could grow bigger and bigger , and would eventually wipe out the upper class . Essentially declare class warfare against the rich elite , like they have done to the middle class . And systematically wipe them out , like they have the middle class. Look at how the Amish work . They are essentially outside the mainstream system , and thrive . They live happy productive lives . They are a self contained system within themselves . Essentially farmer co-ops . Some grow food , some make clothes , some build homes and they all work together . We desperately need a NEW labor movement and political party for the middle class , by the middle class . Restoring the middle class , and employing people with real paying living wage jobs . To give them dignity and hope . To give them their voice and pride back , in the hopes that their children and grandchildren will inherit a less class based corrupt system . Where the government will really be a true democracy , run for the people by the people , not the rich elite few .
