I remembered I saw the first Lawnmower man movie as a young teen. Made some impression for sure (other kind of impression than the movie It which was pretty much a traumatic experience ) I like the surrealism/weirded out perspectives on life in that kind of Stephen King's stories. I also liked The mist (including its ending) but enjoyed the book better. Didn't read a lot of his books though but since I was into epic fantasy a lot once I enjoyed Eyes of the dragon the most. I probably should have read the Dark tower series by him but I can't really be bothered with an 8 book dark fantasy series these days Although I did got heavily into A song of ice and fire (game of thrones) but it wasn't finished yet....!
Daylight Saving Time (United States) 2014 began at 2:00 AM on Sunday, March 9 and ends at 2:00 AM on Sunday, November 2 Remember to set your clocks back Hotwater
they ought a just abolish traditional date formats and implement a metric decimal time system with dates being the number of seconds (or kiloseconds, megaseconds, gigaseconds etc..) since the Big Bang. seriously, 7 days in a week, the. you have 28 day, 30 day and 31 day months, and sometimes 29 day months because we now know a year is actually a little bit longer than 365 days cuz a day is actually not exactly 24 hours! and the. there's even leap seconds because the earths orbital period varies ... such a convolute system it would seem it would be easier to just redefine these other terms.
You’re right it’s fucked up but people are reluctant to change With that said the only clocks I had to set back was the microwave oven and the clock in my car. Every other clock I own reset automatically including the alarm clock. Hotwater
Why stop there! What about this calendar thing: B.C., A.D. We're living in the year 2014 because of the birth of some guy around year zero. Ok if you're never busy with years before the year zero it doesn't seem that big of a deal but when you happen to be so you realize it could be much more practical. Too bad lots of historic dates we have now fixed in our memory should be relearned and memorized again then though...
Movie Ouija was ok. It had its points, but was kind of silly with points.....that were unbelievable.....and got real silly and sloppy at the end., like someone just wanted to finish the script in a hurry. It was not a thorough script, so I would not recommend it, but it was fun to see on Halloween, anyway.....Should have seen the new Saw movie that was playing there, but I never even heard of that movie until it was mentioned here.....
i googled it and i've gotten both answers. but even the ones that said it could be snapped to the side, also said that in order to do so the center has to be next to the ball with his shoulders perpendicular to the line of scrimmage. it also seems like that play could have been considered unsportsmanlike conduct under the intent to deceive rule.
I don't understand how athletes get paid more money than the average doctors or teachers. I just don't.
I understand how it works, it is just very lame. Now if we all would think like this there would not be a good reason why it is so, but apparently a lot of people regard the sport industry and athletes salaries and the pay of doctors and teachers as completely different aspects of society. They view it as pretty much absurd to make a connection between them.
Because people supposedly voluntarily want to see athletes. OR are (supposedly!) swayed to buy crap that athletes endorse. Most people DON'T want to see a doctor. And many people don't see one for anything big before... say, 70yrs of age. And as for teachers, when I was in school, I don't think I ever met a more pathetic, powercrazed, brainless, bitter, incompetent bunch of pricks in my entire life. Most of the ones I remember should have been eating out of bins, if they were paid what they were worth. Or perhaps athletes are paid more because of some "reverse racism" type thing. (ok I may be trolling with that one...!) The final pt is that sports is a bit like playing the lottery. Most kids who want to be athletes fail. They wind up with shit jobs, qualifications etc. So you need a big carrot to tempt kids to try and become athletes. I actually wonder if sports is reaching its limit in terms of the commerciality of it. In some ways atleast. I mean, I grew up a diehard football fan. But now I realise that its not alot different to cheering for Walmart. The people who run sports teams don't tend to have any interest in sports whatsoever, other than to make cash. I agree that you can sell crap for a while, maybe even many years. But ultimately people will wake up and think "these pricks are pisstaking us".
I had a seizure Friday night. It was from xanax withdrawal, which is odd, because I stopped taking xanax regularly a few months ago, after weaning myself off of them. I still get a prescription of 150 xanax bars per month, but now I trade them for weed and only take xanax when I don't have weed, which is VERY rare, because xanax bars will get you a lot of weed on the street. Anyway, that was the second seizure I've had from xanax withdrawal. The first one was when I was still eating superhuman amounts of xanax everyday, so it made sense. I just hope it doesn't happen again, because I'm already fukt up in the head. lol
have you read some of george martin's other stuff, like wild cards or tuff voyaging? most of his work is less horror and more science then king's, which is well, why i prefer it. i don't know if you've ever heard of rafiel alloysius lafferty. if you like really strange for the sake of strange, mixing fantasy, horror and science, and making it believable and too wierd to believe at the same time, he's your man. of course he's dead now. long out of print, and i don't think anything of his was ever made into a movie. frog on a mountain, from his anthology 900 grandmothers, would make a great video game.
I tried one sf book of George Martin and that felt like enough But it was not bad at all. Never heard of Lafferty, thanks for the recommendation! Not all SF is the same of course, Star Wars is also often classed as scifi (it has more fantasy elements except for the setting).
