They should've but the argument is that they generated much more money for small businesses than what it cost for their visit.
Back to Jack...Someone is just trying to cash in on the Ripper name. Its fake made up shit that hurts my head, because that guy could have been the killer, but they didn't solve the case with DNA...I call bullshit!!! The powers that be would have done this years ago...it's only the most famous case in the UK and even here in the states.
I thought about how strange it was that Aarons' DNA would be on the victims shawl left at the scene. But think about how things worked back in those days. The victim was probably carrying a knife to protect herself in case she was attacked. And when it happened she got all stabby and swingy with it, drawing blood. He over powered her anyway and then left the scene. No worries about his blood left behind as there were no DNA tests back then. Shawl was preserved and passed down as a morbid collectors item all this time. Catherine Eddowes should be given a posthumous award for her bravery and for the final un-masking of Jack the Ripper.
So just because 'the powers that be' didn't try to solve it with dna testing before this can't be real? Very convincing argument. Or do you have more convincing reasons to suspect it is fake? I don't find it that strange at all. Why would an 19th century murderer care about some blood or semen stains on a shawl of his victim. But to be more conclusive they could try to compare other things of that Aaron guy with Jack the ripper. Maybe handwritings if possible. It still has to be peer reviewed.
ok...here goes...At a simple explanation of the scarf being passed down through generations and Aaron's path of descedants, it seems that it's true. They solved the case. Now look at all the details involved. We have known about the scarf for years. Then there is the fact that the DNA recovered can only be tested for mtDNA not nucearDNA which leaves a chunk of the worlds population a suspect. Only some of the strains have been identified and they happen to match his relatives. I'll spare you any more BS and tell you to just look it up...one of the three major network stations has the "real news" about it "going viral". Having said all that, if the ripper catches your attention chances are we'll get along just fine. I'm not necessarily a ripper enthusiast, but it's cool shit.
Well, I saw it discussed in a dutch talk show with a crime journalist on the table (maybe you've heard of him too: it was Peter R. de Vries ). That guy seems always very reasonable in his skepticism and I don't think he would found the evidence plausible if the only dna traces that were found were in the semen (which could be from a customer indeed, not the murderer by default). As I understood it the test results came from the blood stains as well, which were compared to the DNA of Kominski's present day relative. I don't think it is 100% certain, and this proof should be peer reviewed of course in order to get there, but on the other hand it still makes Kominski the most likely suspect.
I like a few of his early movies “Take the Money and Run, Sleeper, and Annie Hall” but the rest I just couldn't digest. It’s a good thing he was born here in America and not in Germany because even as a Jew I could easily picture him as a Nazi sympathizer Hotwater
Idk, I did hear some weird stuff about him on the news a few years ago. I don't even remember what though! Something to do with women and something sexual or otherwise ... not right....that he did... but eh, anyways, whatever. I like his movies though but I'm not saying I like him as a person.
I don't have netflix currently but when I did... I just went on a binge watching all of them (almost) from there.
