This makes me want to dust off my guitar and have a go. The only song I've ever learned that was anything like this was "Alice's Restaurant," and that took me a while. I tried sounding out some Canned Tuna stuff years ago, but that was just insanity.

Vacation day yesterday. I re-read my son's first novel, went to one daughter's school for turkey dinner, and went to another daughter's parent-teacher conferences.

He wrote two, actually. I haven't read the second one yet - hopefully sometime over the holiday.

The first one is a surprise. It starts out almost like some kind of light adult fantasy, then turns hideously dark. I laughed like crazy during one part, and at another part I was leaking tears. He wrote it when he was 16.

 

My dog almost killed my cat just a minute ago...he slammed him into the wall.

I slammed him against a wall in retaliation.
