Me and my mom are going out to dinner tomorrow night for her b-day. I told her I would pay since it's her b-day and her age she gets like so much off on her dinner. So she is getting a steak and it will only cost like 10 bucks or something like that. Plus I got her a b-day card and going to get a couple 2$ scratch off tickets to put in it. I have been winning on them so I have a feeling

I raked more leaves today, it a never ending job...

 

only female chickens(hens) lay eggs...roosters are chickens too


i have 2 free roosters right now....if you can catch them they are all yours...feel free to catch them with a bullet

 

Just finished putting up the harvest.

My chickens tried to hatch a brood in june. Nest turned rotten. Turned broody again in aug. Hatched 7 chicks from three hens one rooster. Lost 5 chickens this season. Two chicks and one hen to predation, (raccoon ambush in broad daylight), one hen to injury and another to poisoning I believe.
Net increase in the flock this year.
Two. Egg production fell from 5 per day in june to two per day in oct. Should recover sometime after the first of the year.

 

Y'know dope, they sell eggs at the grocery store. This seems like alot of trouble.

 

I live thirteen miles from the nearest grocery. One and one tenth miles from the nearest utility. I have no vehicle. I am practicing self sufficiency. No trouble at all to make a direct investment in your own well being. Nothing really as rewarding.

 

Besides the chickens did all the work in this instance.

I'm all on my own today, first time in weeks. Just wallowing around in bed, reading, interneting and napping....it's a rare luxury!

they make great gifts believe it or not.....people groove when you hand them a dozen organic free range eggs


and there is always eggs for baking and every egg dish under the sun


i am getting 1 egg a day down from 4-5 a day....didnt let any go to hatching...ate'em all

 

out of 6 kids i am the only one that has never purchased a house
