    It's sunny and 56F out.

Two of the girls on the XC team qualified for the District Championships so I get to coach another week.

I had to wash my dog when i got home yesterday because him and his buddy decided they were going to roll around in a decomposing mouse in the woods.

I did some research today, and apparently it's an old hunting mechanism that evolved with them from back when they were wolves. They do that to mask their scent so they can be less detectable by predators. They never cease to amaze me!

And to add further to our geographical knowledge today, my friend in Trinidad, just north of Venezuela, is in the exact same time zone as mine in Boston.

technically speaking the panama canal has no military value. only the USS Midway has squeezed thru her ****. No current Aircraft Carrier can do so. Only Nuclear subs can make it. Wheres Crummy when you need him.. he could tell us more..:p

Let it be known that I meant to write ''less detectable by prey'', not predators.

Why is this even a debate? I dont get it... if you are going somewhere west of you, you are going west, and if you are going somewhere east of you, you are going east. Am I missing something here?

yes, the way the earth tilts. as ships navigate thru the canal, the compass points east, or west due to the compass and geographic of the land mass .. as opposing the way youre truly headed..
