It was alright. I was meant to go for about three weeks but decided to do a week and a half. If I am honest I am not the same person as I was last year, decided a holiday was better than a round the continent trip

been there done that, sort of thing. Met some good people though. How are you Luna?

A getaway is always good. Unless it's a honeymoon with Rosanne Barr. Where did you go?

I'm good thanks. I kept Tipsy plenty of company whilst she drank to oblivion and partied with yahoos :D

    Sweet, thanks man. :D

Well basically it works by volunteer labor everywhere. The person who buys the house pays material costs, and those costs are reinvested in helping the affiliate purchase new land and materials.

Since they're still paying around 50-100 for a house, basically it's just a good deal for hardworking families.

Theres around a 2% foreclosure rate with the program, which is lower than with a bank loan. There have been instance with people flipping homes, which are rare, but in an effort to combat them, a length of homeowners living in the home before a mortgage can be transferred were put in place by most affiliates.

At my affiliate it was 10 years. There are of course income guidelines too, which assure a person who is affluent can't just buy habitat houses. Based on need is one of the primary prerequisites.

There are however, several more pressing systemic problems within Habitat For Humanity. Particularity Habitat domestic. (US and Canada) Primarily to me is the fact that they could do much more to supply housing through urban rehabilitation than new construction.

Several affiliates are starting to combat this too. But that's a slow battle.

    Back on topic..

I was once in a really bad situation, and admitted myself to the hospital in San Angelo. I spent new years eve of 2007 in a nut house.

On the third day, I got assigned to run the evening group and get everyone together for meals. I was declared president of crazy town.

It's actually been pleasantly warm here for a change, so I've been sans textiles these past 36 hours or so.

I wish I could give you a more exciting reason! Like a sordid love affair with a vampire.
