Ive bypassed the proportioning valve on caravans without having problems...they are a steel block with two lines in and two lines out with a small lever attached to the rear axle that cuts down brake pressure in extreme stopping situations where the rear of the van lifts

Id have to know more about what you mean when you say "nylon block"

 

I feel the same about auto mechanics - years ago I used to do all my own maintenance and repairs - but that was in California where the weather was usually decent for working outside, and cars were a helluva lot simpler - more mechanics and less computer and emissions crap. And everythings packed so tight in the engine compartment...it's just not fun for me anymore.
