We have been having a lot of rain recently and they are predicting another 10 days of rain. If it were snow we would be digging out from feet of snow. I guess I will put up with the rain.

The temperature here is in the upper 40's F and will stay flatline overnight until tomorrow evening when it might go down a few degrees... Yeah, always been like that.

Just like tornado season always started in December and lasted until... ummm, next December. Yeah. Always been like that.

I just haven't figured out why the still call it a season?

rained here today, really a very light sprinkle, but the insane traffic on the arterial streets, i'm so glad i was riding a bus and not having to drive in it myself.
they really need to get a lot more snow on the top of the mountains, to water the valley on the other side next summer.
(the other side of the mountains is the central valley of california where a lot of what a lot of people eat comes from)
(also the top of those mountain passes are a lot of ski areas too. it looks from here like the have some, but not like what i remember from when i lived there in 60s http://www.furaffinity.net/full/5266939/
glad i've been able to hang onto that picture i made at the time. yup one of our cats at the time. loved the snow.)

I do wish we were going to get at least a dusting of snow for Christmas but it does not appear like that is going to happen. It can stop after that dusting though without any complaint from me. :)

well all of the houses were connected together, so you didn't really need to go outside in it. the sheds connected down to the office next to the tracks and up to the highway with the parking garage on the other side of it. there was this really huge long bunch of steps from where the houses were up to the highway, which didn't always get plowed out right away. we were never completely isolated because the railroad was kept plowed out and every kind of communication equipment there was in those days was there. but we did, everyone kept kerosene lamps for if the power went off. the railroad had backup generators to run the signal releys and switch machines and keep the various phone lines and communiction radios working. it was really kind of fun, like living on some strange planet or antarctica or something. it was for me anyway. and you could go anywhere on snowshoes, and everybody had several pairs of different kinds of them. and the railroad had snowcats like they have in antarctica too. that was before skee-doos. it was like the next best thing to like living on another planet. the houses were really heavily built with steeply slanting roofs and with aluminum roofing for the snow to slide off. the ice cicles were amazing too. ice spears that would grow to 6 to 8 feet long, and even longer in some of the railroad tunnels. and like the sheds, the ones for people to walk in that connected the houses and everything else, was kind of like this really neat maze. it was only a couple of years of my life that i lived there, but it was my favorite place growing up. and in the summer, it was all forest and mountains around there. a mile and a half down the old highway in either direction were ski areas with lodges and ski lifts and all those things.

    Wow.

I don't know if I'd get claustrophobic in Winter. I'm sure I'd love to see the icecicles.

    Summer sounds perfect!
