My wife is hinting about getting another dog at some point....maybe. My daughter is nagging me about getting a cat....not going to happen in a million years. I actually think cats are pretty cool but I don't want to have one. I had one for many years.

 

If the girl wants a cat you should let her have it.

She doesn't need a horse or a cat. I'd rather have a horse .I love horses and wish I could have accepted everything my grandpa wanted me to give me. I can handle the smell of horse shit. I just hate the smell of cat piss, cat litter and I hate having animal hair on everything. Having had a cat that eventually pissed all over the place a few years ago.....there is no way I will have that again in this house.

should not saddle a child with an 18 year commitment....people who do that tend to move away and leave the cats for the next person...who turfs them out and they end up in a field or barn somewhere

not all people do that...but enough that cat colonies are everywhere these days

 

In all fairness, we won't get a dog that sheds either. I told her she could have a Galapagos tortoise and she could even let it walk around the house freely.

 

Yeah... but playing "fetch" could take hours.

gfs step mother died today and my uncle is due to die any minute from cancer docs give him less than 30days a week ago

cant do that Chicago fire stuff I gave it 10mins and it was a sex scene < like every new show on tv had anything to do with fire it will never replace Emergency in my book give me johnny gage and roy disoto real paramedics in action and no cgi effects

 

i remember a friend of mine was told he had just a few months to get things done (stomach,pancreas and esophagus cancer)


he was able to spend another year with his kid


i still see his father often...the guy is pretty broke down though ...my friend was the second son he's lost


he was only 31 or 32 at the time...his brother died in an accident when they were around 5 or 6
