Random Facts About You # 57

Today's project is going to the grocery store to pick up some prepared Thanksgiving meals for tomorrow. Sounds easy but the store will be packed with people. Usually someone waiting in line to check out will say, "I should have gotten those." I will get them delivered to Dad's. Two meals come in a paper grocery bag and we get two bags for Dad, Ty and me. Turkey, gravy, stuffing, green beans, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, bread and pumpkin pie.

In the past Dad did the heating up but sometimes the meals came out on the cold side. I am not much of a cook but tried taking over a couple years ago and we had some hot stuff and others lukewarm. Last year Ty did the meals and "Score!", we had hot meals. Therefore Ty gets the prize and gets to do the cooking from now on. :chef:

I always called leftovers "used food"... Generally means more for me, people tend to not like used food.

 

OK Heating? Whatever it is, it is still hard to get everything a good temperature at the same time. I said I wasn't much of a cook.

Nice and it is great you can all be together for a nice dinner. If you unpack it and heat it (or Ty) you may call it what ever you want to. My rule.

I did order the pendant and when I went back to the site and looked around they have matching earrings. I ordered those as well as mom has a birthday in February so I will give the earrings to her for her birthday.

I was done shopping in October. Of course I don't give out more than a few purchased and a couple handmade.

 

Well, there is that aspect. But this was one of those "I know this person from another life" situations.

 

Now, You see what happens when you pardon a Turkey... They go right out and shoot down a plane.

The kitchen is a madhouse right now! Music blaring, girls dancing, food being made....I came back out to the wood shop.

We aren't having our usual dinner tomorrow. Normally, my wife makes an incredible dinner but it's just us, the kids and a couple of friends who also don't have very much family around (and grandpa when he was still alive). The two oldest always have to juggle multiple dinners throughout the day and our friends who are usually over have to work this year. So we decided that instead of the regular dinner.....we are going to have Thanksgiving breakfast. We'll still have a smaller dinner later but the main cooking effort will go into breakfast. Pancakes/waffles, eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit, hot cinnamon rolls, pie and a couple of other things that I can't remember.

I think we all thought it was a cool idea and the boys are happy to have one less "dinner" to attend. You can only enjoy so much similar food anyway. Plus....it will kind of be like Christmas for us in that the boys always have multiple places to visit throughout Christmas day but they are always home with us and their sister first thing in the morning to start the day off and open gifts, etc.

Today is my 65th birthday. I honestly don't even feel a day older than yesterday but yesterday I felt 95 so I guess today is an improvement.
