I'm doing a little project that I'm really liking.

My printer/scanner is old and it's an eyesore. It has dirt on it that even a Magic Eraser won't take off.

I'm putting decorative duct tape on it and it looks cool!

you changed from the box over top idea...I liked that one....

I need a new printer...I was going to go and see which cartridges were the cheapest to buy and then go get one of those....my printer is an hp photosmart....kinda old about 10 years...big and bulky and the cartridges are hard to find now

    Mine's an HPpsc 1210 all-in-one.

The box was a bit taller than the printer. I didn't want to cut the bottom edge because I didn't think it would cut straight. The cats started lying on top of the box and caving it in.

Plus, how could I claim to be from the South and not use duct tape for every fix?

Nice! It sucks to have to drop cash on unexpected costs but it's good that you got a decent saw out of it. Now you should be good to go for a while and it should save headaches later. How do you like the new saw?

Haven't used it yet... I got it this morning on my way to visit with my Father. That usually wipes out the whole day... By time I get home I'm ready to just relax for a minute or two.

I was hanging out this evening with a pretty good friend of mine who is a business consultant(/freaking guru). I've had some good but kind of risky ideas in the past which we've discussed. He thought we could have made them work but I thought there was too much money on the line considering the odds. But....I've had a killer idea that I've been kicking around since spring/early summer. He loves it. I love it. It's still a big gamble in a risky business (food) but our market is dying for something like this.

The food in this town absolutely sucks. There are incredible places to eat all over the place within an hour of here. I know because I write reviews of all of those places. Many people in this town wouldn't be interested in that type of dining. They want something that isn't McDonald's but is faster than the local shitty family place that takes forever to serve you with mediocre food.

I think I have the answer and it will be food from where I grew up. There is nowhere in this entire state (which I am aware of) to get anything like this. The bonus: When the locals try it....they will love it and....there are many people who have moved here from the area where this food originates. They will come.

My buddy was impressed enough that he asked me if I wanted the business plan wrote for me to work in the store or not work most of the time. Let's go with the hands-on approach....just to be safe.

    tldr.

You don't know what you're missing! NOTHING is better than grits with LOTS of butter and some cheese. Have some crispy bacon handy for a bite with each buttery (and/or cheesy) spoonful. (I personally think limp bacon should be illegal to serve to customers. :) )

But really that does sound like an excellent idea... you would be providing jobs for people as well as giving locals a good place to eat that isn't an hour away. :)

You have to mix scrambled eggs, bacon, butter, cheese, and grits together.

That's a meal that will stick to your ribs!

[IMG] That is one of the (few) meals my son likes! It's really my personal favorite - for breakfast, lunch or dinner. :D

You'd never know that boy has such a short list of foods he will willingly eat, seeing as he is 6'4", around 190 lbs and goes to the gym 4 times a week. lol

But anyway, here's to LOVING grits, scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, butter and cheese! [IMG]

Last night I had dinner with three friends that I knew when I was still working at the university. These days we get together about once or twice a year but we pick up as if we saw each other all the time. We went to a Greek restaurant downtown. Wonderful food and company. It really lifted my spirits.

    Yes...yes it is.

Just got groceries. Around 45F degrees out there and raining. Feels almost like winter. I will likely stay in the rest of the day.
