Fire is still going, but I gotta cook some food.

 

I'm so in a better place today

 

So there is this big oil pipeline company that wants to force their will on us. Most locals don't want the pipeline. My 12 yr old daughter wanted to be a part of a protest this weekend. I (jokingly) told her she was probably going to get tear-gassed, tazed and arrested. She didn't give a shit. She did what she thought was right. That's a parenting win. Be who you are! Stand up for what you believe in. That's my girl.

 

I'm cooking meatloaf right now.

I cut grass Saturday! :hurray:

The new mower felt like it was going to cut off about the whole time I cut that section though...then yesterday I got the son to look at it to see wth is the matter with it! He pulled up this little cover (I wasn't even aware was there) and lo and behold there is this sponge that is actually the "filter" :dizzy2: It wasn't completely covered but enough to where I saw it needed to be cleaned. Of course he made sure everything was alright and I was properly instructed (for the time being anyway).

I would NEVER have thought that cover was a "cover" or that little sponge was a filter.

 

I have no problem working hedge clippers, pruners, loppers or the piano.

 

This week is tests week. I hate that.

Now on a good note, it is sunny and warm here. After a couple of gloomy days it is nice to see the sun out.

 

Random fact about me? I have never cut grass in my life

 

OMG! How old are you? How in the world have you avoided this chore?

LOTS of people just love LOVE LOVE cutting grass, and sure don't see the big deal about someone doing this, cutting grass...I'm having to do our yard now and I absolutely HATE cutting grass....but its like a Very Needed thing to do. Snakes already think this house is the place to come. lordhavemercy

I love flowers and keeping several flower beds and have always maint;ained outside plants.

Keeping that dang grass cut is something else altogether.

 

Lynn, you have to make more "natural areas".

Take your fallen leaves and pine straw and smother that grass!

 

Haha, the boyfriend loves cutting the grass and often does it before I get home (I work shift work, and often don't get home until odd hours.
I'm sure I will when I get a job with more steady hours, but it just hasn't come to be needed yet


My next fact: I can bend my left pointer finger almost to the point of touching the back of my hand.

 

Yeouch!

it is because I wandered over to the forest garden and marvelled at how nature is forming tint glass mushrooms on all my babies...puts me in a good mood

My niece called me tonight and I think she is a little homesick. She lived with me for three years and just moved to start college in a new city. She sounded close to weepy and my momma bear instincts were ready to drive up to see her.

I think I will call her tomorrow night, just to check on her.

 

It's hard, Heat. I'm getting more homesick than ever right now, and I moved out last May. Took a while to sink in I guess.

Random fact? I have 3 snakes.

 

I went to watch the oldest granddaughter play softball with her school today. They didn't even put her in the game. I'm not use to the way this school ball works.

They have three games this week and were playing a crappy team today but still...We paid to get in and everything.

 

Burn pile fire is still going... Drug some branches over there from that Ash tree I cut down last month, burned them up. Wonder if it will still be going tomorrow? I've got a lot more branches. More brushing to do too.


It is a good spot for a fire pit, quite a ways from the house though.
