I was on the way home from the hospital last night and the car had a transmission event. It jerked and AT3 flashed on the dash. Engine light came on.

My son put some fluid in the transmission and got the engine light reset...so we will see.

Hopefully, the car will get me to the hospital and back for a few days with no further event.

Pay day is Wednesday. I can get a drain and fill for about $40. I guess the flush would be about $130.

I don't know much about hubby yet except, it's obvious from looking at his urine, that he has a raging kidney infection. He is in the process of hospital running all sorts of tests.

Either of those would likely kill the transmission... Just keep the fluid level up and check for leaks.

yeah..i never believed in trans flushes either

if its not showing signs of plugged filter i wont even change them...and even then its bad news because something had to be wrong for the filter to plug up

i dont believe in fixing transmissions...i just swap them with a working unit...got 400,600km on mine so far with no problem..lots of heavy towing too i guess i got a good one...i even know its low ..rear seal is leaking atf into transfer case and overflowing out the vent but im too lazy to keep checking it

had one bad one a while back that wouldnt engage ...put some lucas no slip in a got a few years out of it until the engine popped (fwd cutlass supreme)

Okay, he put a pint in and said that is supposed to last 15,000 miles. We will hope.

A gastro doc came by and told hubby that are checking him for C-Diff as cause of extreme diarrhea. He also mentioned Hydronephrosis which means the kidneys are swollen indicating obstruction of urine flow. I guess he got that from the ct scan of last night. The urologist has not been in yet.

It may be that he needs to have his urostomy surgery redone. It's been 40 years and they usually only last about 15.

some of the newer cars are weird and do odd stuff when trans fluid is low...so yes basically best thing is to just keep it at proper level

i spent a ton of time once trying to figure out what was wrong with a family members jeep cherokee and after all that checking the only thing i found was the trans needed a quart....after filling it everything worked great

The car drove me back and forth to the hospital just fine but the warning lights came on again.

They may need to be reset with a scan tool, depending on what car it is...

been with the gf for 3yrs and to this day I didnt know how bad a driver she was. she almost got us hit a couple times. I totally lost my patience in our own neighbourhood with her going thru stop signs and then shes yelling at me cause I didnt tell her one was there. are you fucking kidding me, like a STOP sign is something new to you your 32 fucking years old.. and I wondered why the rotors are warped. she brakes on top of shit. I was wondering if she was going to brake at all sometimes..

Made this birdhouse this evening. Not too shabby for just messing around with that warped Walnut for the hell of it. I hated to use screws but I needed to pull that little bit of warping together. I didn't think nails would do it. The front piece is 12"x5" so with the side pieces...it's about 6 1/4 inches wide. 5 inches from front to back. I forget how tall the back is.

It's a duplex that will hang near where I sit on my deck. I'm hoping the finches use it. I think I like them the best. I made the little perches extra long in case they want to bro out with some company. (I laugh to myself every time I say something like that because it's a term some of the young guys around here say. My kids kind of roll their eyes at me...."I put those there in case they're broin' with some friends!" Hahaha!)

When the brake light came on in my wifes car, we already knew it needed brakes. So we had the job done but the light didn't turn off. I figured it was just that kind of thing. I'll just have the dealer reset it next time the car is there.....which won't be very long from now. I was driving down to see my grandpa today and I noticed that the car kind of had a bit of a shudder when it down-shifted. It happened maybe 6 or 7 times. Never when shifting up through the gears...only when you get on it and it shifts down. So I guess she will call them tomorrow but it should be covered on the warranty so I'm not too concerned about it. I hope it's covered anyway. The car only has 30-something thousand miles on it. There really shouldn't be many issues with it right now.

I think I'm out pretty soon. Chilling on the deck, listening the Neil Young from inside the house. My wife has it on. I can't listen to that...ever...without thinking of my dad and step-mom. They were so awesome! They were beautiful people. I miss them so much. I hope to be like them some day.

    Ok...good night, everyone.

some of the new cars require either a dealer specific scantool or a very expensive generic ones that most shops wont invest in ...its crazy some cars need a damn scan tool to relearn caliper positiion when you change the pads

She was out there again at 8 am this morning....... :yikes:

I can only guess....she gets spooked each time....by something....gives up.....but keeps coming back over and over again....every time she does....someone here goes outside, starts the car or something and probably spooks her....her timing may be stinky....but she likes the meadow land right by the stream here....so she does not seem to give up. It is the only thing I can think of that makes sense....meanwhile, she is digging up quite a bit of the property here....but I hope she will be happy soon out there.

I watched the Marilyn made for tv movie before...i did not know that Joe Dimaggio was physically abusive to Marilyn....:(
Actress that portrayed Marilyn was awesome.

Little one year old neice of mine is awesome. She is walking....eats adult food by herself with her fingers...no baby food....and practically ate her own little birthday cake all by herself.....and someone had to take it way from her before she ate the whole thing, and she would have.. She can eat!....She never cries....is already trying to talk and smiles, smiles, smiles....She is such a little love. i am going to kidnap her.....LOL
Seriously, I just love her so much....

Gonna be cooler today... In the 60's. Soil is all wet, looks like it's going to be one of those days where the soles of my boots are all coated with 2 inches of mud. Fun stuff....
