That gives me an idea! Yes...I would love to sit out here and watch a bunch of bats flying around at dusk! And I hate mosquitoes.

    Edit....everyone hates mosquitoes.

they are hard to see here..but you just kind of know when theyre around

i see them mostly when i swim at night you can just once in a while catch a glimpse if the moon is out ...they like to glide around just above the water surface

We had bats roosting in the attic gables years ago. There were so many that they'd leave a big pile of guano. The neighbors had them too. One night, we counted 40 leaving her house at dusk. I don't know why they moved on.

Big turtle was laying her eggs out there a little earlier...I am pretty sure she was a snapper....she made several holes....covered them up and left in a hurry....she did a lot of work in a short time. i wonder how many eggs she layed in each hole she made.

Funny thing....some people we know moved into the place we were living at next door while our house was being remodeled. I only know them from social events. My wife knows them better than I do....she's more into that stuff than I am. I've never met their kids until recently and one of them is a little red-headed kid who is 7. I call him "Dennis" behind closed doors...Dennis The Menace....but he's actually a funny little dude. He's taken quite a liking to my daughter who is almost 12 but tiny so she's only a few inches taller than him. They've been hanging out a bit even though she is much more mature than him.

So a bit ago he saw me out at the car and came over. I asked him if he wanted me to tell my daughter he was outside. He did. A few weeks ago my daughter asked if she was allowed to have a boyfriend. I went inside and told her that her boyfriend was here to see her. She punched me in the arm as she walked outside.

I guess that was funnier if you were there. One nice thing is that he seems like a good kid and her girl friends on our block are all a couple of years older than her. So I'd rather have her spend the summer playing dodge ball and soccer in the yard with Dennis (which they are doing right now) rather than the summer hanging out with 14-15 year old girls who may be talking/thinking about a lot of different topics.

This is why I never had kids... It's illegal to keep them in cages.

You know...honestly...I've never really felt like that and I've posted about how I was roped into my first two kids. I feel like I have three children who are very smart and understand how the world really works around them.
