This was bad enough to bleed for a little while. I've been stabbed by those damn thorns more times than I can count though. It's even worse when the tip breaks off under the skin. At least that didn't happen.

had a job today that turned out to be more than expected....brand new struts but one had an internal problem so i had to remove it and put the old one back on for one side...then of course theyll send a new one and ill have to re-install it

but of course the guy wont pay for all that extra work that wasnt my fault

    Mowing.... What else is new.

Took the rear fender pan off the Cub Cadet today.... Pulled the gas tank, all that jazz. Gonna run a new gas line while I'm in there.

If he brought the parts to you, could you have just left on the one with the problem since you were only paid to install what he brought you? But then told him it was messed up but reinstalling a new one would be more labor.

I would say that over half of my non-power company work I do is for friends and it's always free. I don't mind much though. I just did some work this afternoon for a friend who was pretty stressed out over some trees. She wasn't home when I was there but she texted me during dinner and said "Thank you so much for taking care of that! How much do I owe you?" I said "You're very welcome. It's free. Just pay it forward!"

Just to be able to say that is kind of like getting paid for me. :)

Edit to say....yeah...it's kind of on you if you ordered the parts. Crappy.

So after sitting with the grandkids, I told hubby I was going to get his antibiotics.

He was like "No...Just wait 'til tomorrow".

I came a little unstrung at that point.

I told him I was going to get the damn antibiotics and he would fucking start taking them as soon as I got home.

    :bomb:

I brought back 6 quarts of gatorade for him too.

.i have a limited amount of energy to do things and most of my friends understand that i need to use that limited amount to get my bills paid

this guy will probably make it up other ways...he's a pain in the ass but he's the friend that always shows up to help when i need it so technically i should give him a lot of leeway (which i usually do but i still want to bitch about it)

Understood. Most of my friends know I won't charge them but they will have to wait until I have the time and feel like doing the work. If it's something urgent and dangerous, I will get there in the morning. But if it's just some run-of-the-mill stuff....I'll get there when I feel like it. They may have to wait but they won't be spending $1500 or whatever the work would cost.

I wish I was in California right now. I always wish that. Aside from the drought and all. Monterey, Ca....actually the Carmel Valley which is very close.....where my wife has family. But to do that...I once again have to gamble everything I "own" and I just don't know if I can do that again at my age. If I stay here...everything is ok. I live in an area that has a park named for my family. If I go there...nothing is for sure. but.....that's the point. Nothing ventured....nothing gained. But they need to get their shit together with the water situation before people should be thinking of investing in the area.

ideally to build a large aqueduct system from the north, desalinate and pump south .. would be a monumental feat, huge man made lakes .. huge channels above ground pools .. at this point ocean is the only way to go.

the rest of north America has been jealous over California for decades...now we finally get to see it shrivel up and fall into the sea........

I can tell you this.....no aquaduct systems will be built in order to give a farmer water......people are through with tht move
