Whoo Hooo ... still over the moon PS. Don't stop with donating to Shelter yet, peeps ... and by the Rage T-Shirt, proceeds go to Shelter
Ahoy Peeps ... just to let you know, there is all sorts of talk on The Facebook Group about keeping Rage No1 ... sure sounds overkill, but in true Rage spirit this was just 1 battle and there is still a Xmas target of £100,000 for Shelter. Anyway, here are 3 links that have come up: Take The Power Back - RATM for New Year No.1 http://www.************/search/?q=t...ar+no1&init=quick#/group.php?gid=214885103362 Rage Against the Banks http://www.************/pages/Everytown/Rage-Against-the-Banks/361921640095?ref=ts# RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE FOR NO 1 FOR A 2ND WEEK http://www.************/group.php?gid=240843746494 Jah Guide! EDIT: and as BubT mentioned in the beginning, the main Facebook Group page is: http://www.************/topic.php?topic=17631&post=143804&uid=2228594104#/group.php?gid=2228594104
Looking at it all in hindsight, I am a little pissed. They said profits would be going to charity. Now they are saying a large portion. I don't want to line the pockets of the Rage either... May as well just give it strait to the charity.
They would see little cash in it anyway with the prices from 29p to just over a pound and say the average price was 50p they would only make £25000 and if the "Majority" went to the shelter say 80% they would get about £5000 divided between them all so hardly lining their pockets
Even still, there album says jumped with the single on the amazon chart, and the song is likely to get to number 2-3 next week too- it's still selling because of the whole thing. Either way, whether they make £1 or £1,000,000 they said all proceeds, it was a lie And it was that lie that got it to number one, a lot of people felt strongly about the shelter idea. It's obviously just disappointing, since you don't know what large portion to them actually could be. Ah well. Better then Joe.
yeah true, I don't think it was the Shelter thing that got it to No one tho, that was more of a by product. Most people who joine dthe group didn't but the song anyway, it was people buying multiple copies as you know just top get them to No1 and to keep the Xfactor said "Guarenteed No1" of the top slot either way there were 2 good causes that benifitted
