lol they are pretty cool little critters, but the people at that site take it just a wee bit too serious.
here's the latest reply Hi Yes I'm afraid i agree with Blackie, it doesn't sound good. Hand rearing a pup is very hard and time consuming. Be prepared to be up every 2 hours and keep the pup at the correct temperature (its hard, I've tried). By all means try to give mum all the help you can nutrition wise, but often in these cases, unless you have another gerbil to foster it, it maybe better to let nature take its course. Fingers crossed for you and keep us updated R8ch every 2 hours?? I wish u luck.. that's harder than babies!
couldnt his mother take care of him for some of the time? thanx for the finger crossin though, he was gettin real cold there for a while, got nice n toasty since i fed him, what could i give mommy to make her/him bettter???
Remember, it said to double the concentration, so instead of mixing the formula 1 part to 1 part water, you have to use 2 parts formula to 1 part water. And, don't nuke it...that heats it unevenly and destroys the goodies in the formula. Use a pot of boiling water with another container of the formula...like a double boiler. So they banned you because you said your gerbils were mean towards people?
yikes, 2 not so good feedings wont be too bad for it will it??? well i got a little rude when they would not answer me because i inbred, its like cmon, whats done is done, help with what you can, way too serious about rodents over there...
You had eight. (I found your post you little troll lol.) You let the cat sit on their cage until it figured out how to get to them. I don't see where they banned you. You were in pets forum. (There is no gerbil formum.) I bet you were trying to make them cat foodand you mad someone mad. If I'm wrong then show me the exact post where you were banned. (I thohgt the one with the 8 gerbilsand the cat would be a start.)
Well, I'm not a gerbil expert, just a formula expert. From what I gathered from previous posts, they said that gerbil milk is more concentrated. So, basically, if you didn't concentrate the baby formula like how I said, you gave the pup a dilluted feeding or two. Two shouldn't be harmful, just make sure you do it properly from now on. We have a gerbil, too, and she's been a little bitch since we got her. Always biting at us.
ya obviously not an expert since you dont know they are VERY social creatures that is probably why she is so bitter! she needs a companion, you should look into getting her a companion and introducing them with the split tank or common ground method, dont just toss her in there, its relatively simple and not much of a hassle, and will make your gerbil a LOT more happier and probably make you happier as they die a LOT quicker when they live alone.
Yeah, I found that out a while back; that she needs a friend...but, she's already like 2 yrs old, so I figure she's too set in her ways to make friends.
What the hell did you ask about gerbils to get you banned, not some richard gere type question... he loves gerbils
